    Charlotte Target: B. Bass?

    Target: Brandon Bass

For all the issues Charlotte has had on the court this season, its lack of rebounding has been overlooked.

If it wasn't for Al Jefferson, the Bobcats would be in even deeper trouble than they already are. Jefferson is averaging 10.6 rebounds this year, currently twice as many as anyone else on the roster.

It goes without saying that the big man could use some serious help.

Playing so many minutes alongside Josh McRoberts and Cody Zeller is doing Jefferson no favors. Being the only decent big man on the roster makes the recent torrid stretch Jefferson has put together even more remarkable.

Just think of how much immediate help another big body would provide. Brandon Bass is more than capable of providing some offense and pulling some attention off of Jefferson. He is also an active guy who loves to get after it on the defensive end and on the boards.

The Boston Celtics' entire season has been a dumpster fire. There is no way that anyone on that roster is off limits. Young guys like Jared Sullinger and Kelly Olynyk have shown some bright signs for the future, though. Cashing in on a veteran trade chip before the deadline is most definitely on their radar, as we already saw with the Courtney Lee trade.

Bass has a similar build and skill set to Paul Millsap, Jefferson's front-line running mate for years out in Utah. Zeller and McRoberts are simply not getting it done, and Bismack Biyombo appears to have regressed. Bass could provide a strong paint presence that Charlotte has been lacking.

    Yes. Former Bulls guard.

Sounds good if they'd take Bass. Not sure why Danny would resign Johson though if he's taking on another SG for this season?? Maybe Charlotte wants a guard as well and takes Johnson.

Bass isn't a good rebounder thought. That is the whole weakness in his game. If he could rebound the Celtics wouldnt want to trade him in the first place.

I dont think we get a pick for Bass.

I'd trade Bass and Green for Gordon and the Detroit 2014 pick and I'd ask for Biyombo to be included as well.

It doesn't make them contenders, but it certainly makes them a lot better. They would become an even better defensive team. They can bring MKG off the bench as a 6th man and have a starting lineup of:

    Walker

    Henderson

    Green

    Bass

    Jefferson

Clearing cap space and getting that Detroit pick would be HUGE.

The pick is only top 8 protected. Right now, its sitting at #10 and it will likely land in that 9-13 range. In terms of players available, we're looking at:

    Jeremi Grant

    Rodney Hood

    WCS

    Dario Saric

    Tyler Ennis

    Doug McDermott

    ...

With the three picks, the Celtics would be able to draft:

    1. A high impact player likely allstar in the 1-5 range (Embiid, Parker, Wiggins, Exum, Randle)

    2. A very solid role player in the 9-13 range (Hood, Saric, McDermott, Ennis, WCS)

    3. A potentially solid role player in the 17-22 range (Stauskas, Seldon, LaVine)

In the end, we could get a very productive combination of guys like:

    Parker(SF), WCS(C), Stauskas (SG)

    or

Embiid (C), Hood (SF), Seldon (SG)

Those two losses against Philly hurt our standings for the top 3. Danny has to make a move soon.
