You think CP3 goes all the way to Asia for goodwill? His good friend, The Black Mamba, is the Lakers best talent scout! You heard it here first!

Same old broken record, by the same clown - he cannot go anywhere right now.  IF the lockout lasts a  year, he is a UFA, and will be unable to go to the lakers.  If they want to trade him, goodbye Bynum!!  Or Gasol!  Of course, "they" could take
Odom, Walton and Blake...... NO, the league would never allow that, forget that one!!

Wow that is amazing, I just read an article from Liechtenstein (one of the smallest countries in the world) saying that Howard, Lebron, and D-wade are coming to Boston for free.

I guess we should believe everything that we read Undecided

They need more than Paul, the fire is gone on that team. Kobe is now at the jump shooting stage of his career, and Gasol seems sick of Kobe's show. Don't see Mike Brown cutting down the nets anytime soon, that's for sure.

Signing CP3 is out of the question. The only way the Lakers are going to get CP3 is if they offer Bynum or Gasol for CP3.

Kobe doesn't have any friends-which is why he had to give himself his own nickname-"The Black Mamba".

    Which nobody calls him.

I suggested awhile back that a Bynum, Blake, Walton and draft picks for Paul and Okafor deal would be a solid move for both teams.

CP3 is not staying past next year. Bynum is a young big with tantalizing promise and a frontcourt of him, Ariza and Landry is one you can win with.

Re: Chris Paul to join the Lakers

Paul-Kobe-Artest-Okafor-Gasol w/ Odom as the 6th man and Fisher/Barnes to round it out a scary rotation.

Kobe has morphed into a jump shooter who needs to save his legs for the playoffs. Paul will make Gasol a 23-24ppg player and hopefully Kobe is smart enough to let him become the #1 option. Paul as a #3 option 17 point 13 assist guy who doesn't have to drive and risk injury as much is a good deal.

Compare what they have gotten from Bynum last 3 years to what Okafor had given. Okafor is a warrior who isn't injury prone like Bynum. He gives a 12p-10r-1.5b good interior D effort in 95% of each seasons games. Unselfish team player. Won't be a punk. Bynum gives a 18p-12r-2b very good interior D in 40% of the games. Then he gives Okafor's #'s in 20% of the games as he recovers from some p#ssy injury, then he misses 40% of the games. Then he acts like a child and humiliates franchise.

Blake and Jack can split time at PG in New Orleans and combine for 20 points and 12 assists. They'd just need a 20ppg wing scorer to move from 7-8 seed to west challenger (as long as Bynum reaches potential and stays healthy). Belinelli and Pondexter (13-14 ppg SG's) a pick in the teens and a pick in the 20's could be enough to swing a trade to get one next summer. Otherwise they have cap space 2013.

New Orleans also save 5-6 million next year, as they are a big money losing franchise right now with CP3 distractions and the chance that the NBA sells them and they move. While they'd have to pay a lot more for 3 guys in 2012-13 than if they let Paul walk, they'd still be paying less then had they extended Paul, and likely wouldn't have had cash or assets to put a championship contender around him in the next 12 months.

In 2013 they just have Ariza under contract. Enviable space if they were sold or moved. Unlike having 30 year old Okafor at another 15 million.  If they want to be competitive and resign Bynum/Landry/Jack and keep Quincy Pondexter they'd still have 13-15 million in space to add a 'star' to a core of guys in their late 20's ready to make a run.

Re: Chris Paul to join the Lakers

Paul is just what Kobe needs. Get him off the ball. Relieve intense pressure to score all clutch baskets. Get him down from 36 to 32 mins a game.

If they made such a trade it would have to include Bynum. It couldn't be some BS deal like they got Gasol for. I'd have never complained about that deal if the Lakers kept Marc Gasol, assuming he'd be a solid Center in 1-2 years and sent Bynum to Memphis since he was out for the year anyhow.

They would be better swapping Bynum for Okafor and Paul then doing some deal where they have to take on Arenas salary and send Bynum and Odom for Howard. Gasol is 7' and makes like 57 million over the next 3 years. He will just get slower. They need him to be a Center. Okafor is 6'9", so PF height, but a rock, he pairs up good with Gasol.

Re: Chris Paul to join the Lakers

And yes if we met such a new imaginitive Lakers team I'd expect the aging duo of Ray and Pierce to outplay the aging duo of Kobe and Artest. KG has enough gas in 1 more (rested!) year to outplay Okafor. Like a 16-9 vs. 11-8.

Can Rondo improve to narrow gap w/ Paul so that CP3 is at least not any more better than him than Green is to Odom? I fully expect Green to be a big minute, big impact 17-6 guy next year while Odom regresses to a 13-8.

Our deep bench (DWest, Baby, Johnson, Avery) will smoke LA's.

Then the finals will rest on who on earth we get to match up with Pau. If we get a guy like Kaman we'd be in business. If it's just a heathier JON (26 minutes, 10 points, 7 boards, 2 blocks) and an MLR signing like Sam Dalambert (22 mins, 5 points, 6 boards, 2 blocks). Then you gotta give the edge to LA, unless Pau poops his pants like he did vs. Chandler's D... which JON/Sam can come close to bringing.

That's almost as comedic as greenkiller's prediction that the Fakers front office will get Howard, Wade, and Bosh through "creative accounting".

The black mamba will recoil and hiss with disgust with the next Fisher and/or Farmar wannabe whipping boys. You heard it her first!
In Response to Re: Chris Paul to join the Lakers : Before we talk about LA and the Finals, can the Celtics beat the Heat, Bulls, and Knicks next season? The old CBA does not apply anymore when the lockout stops. So how can the Celtics come up with 12.2m to get Chris Kaman without giving up one of the Big 3? I also don't think the Hornets are willing to take the risk on a player like Sam Bowie, I mean Andrew Bynum. Andrew Bynum to become the face of the New Orleans Hornets?
    Posted by Fiercest34
I think the Celtics with a rested big 3, 17-6 starter Jeff Green (getting 32-36 mins), Rondo w/ improved shot/no dislocation, DWest and JON integrated into system better and healthy all year and Sam Dalambert would beat the Heat. Yes no question.

Bynum age 18-23 over 6 years (24 in Oct):

    60 games a year 10.5 points, 7.1 reb's, 1.5 blocks

Bowie age 23 (end of rookie year) to 28 (after 6 years):

    45 games, 12.5 points, 9.1 reb's, 2 blocks.

We shall see. Bynum has already almost had the career Bowie had only at 4 and a half years younger. Sam had 2 good years age 29-30 (74 game avg), then 2 mediocre ones 31-32 and then was washed up. Bynum has yet to turn 24 and shows WAY more promise of being a force than Bowie EVER did.

    So Fierce

lets say Bynum spends age 24-31 as a 14 point, 9 rebound, 2 block Center who plays in 65 of 82 reg season games a year....

    Very 'Sam Bowie' like

Is that not better than ONE AND DONE Chris Paul? Esp when they dump the insane 45 million or so Okafor gets over the next 3 years??

    Plus draft picks of course...

I guess i have to see what other offers CP3 can bring.
