It is becoming very common in the NBA for players to blame the coach, and in most cases deflect the blame for not playing team ball and following the game plan.  Management needs to sit some players because the more they give into this type of behavior the worse it will become, given that some coaches do exibit an inability to coach.

Although no one can say for sure that the mess the Clippers have run into since Billups got hurt is only because of this one injury, but you could read into it that there are just some guys who are so important to their teams that it is really not even funny.  Stats don't even matter for some guys even though Billups was a good player.

Everyone who has played sports at any level fully understands how that one guy (girl) can be on your team.   That player is the glue, can speak to others, can speak for others to the coach, etc, etc, etc.

I was always hoping that the Celtics could have brought Billups back sometime during his prime.

Posted by charliedarling[/QUOTE] I wish boston would have made a serious move for him too. One of those leader types...would have fit right in...from day one...

Ditto on Billups, though you could say we're quite fortunate to have 3 respected vets in KG, PP and RA.

Interesting to see how long Del Negro lasts.  Teams often get a bounce from a managerial change and the Clips could spring some surprises come playoff time.
