    Congratulations Doc Rivers

Doc Rivers set two new records against New York.

    1. His bench only scored 4 points

    2. One player on his bench scored those four points on free throws. In other words the bench scored zero two or three point shots.

DOc doesnt know any better and wont dare shift from his script.. He really thinks hes a brilliant coach and believes in what hes doing... A 25 point second half!!!/,,Think about how pathetic that is

As our offense, turnovers and rebounding continued to worsen..Doc stayed the course. The robot know no other way..

I wasn't aware Doc actually had to take the ball from the hand of the shooters and place it in the basket. I wasn't aware it was even legal for a coach to do that.

Rivers is not a good coach.

    Mediocre at best.

Possbly but Terry, Crawford and Lee scoring 4 points in 50 minutes isn't a way to prove that.

Player rotations and jr hi offesne sinks us, that is the way it is, so get use to it.  Unless Paul just takes over coaching it is over.

not sure what you can do to get more out of jason terry- maybe waterboard him?

Maybe you need to become aware that the coach can remove the shooters not doing their job and replace them. Maybe you need to become aware the coach can sit Bass and insert Shav who just might grab a couple rebounds. etc etc etc.. Guess theres quite a bit youre unaware of.

U Cant put everything on coaches. Shame on anyone who actually though Doc would go deep into his bench come playoff time. Im surprised J.Craw even got in the game. This series will end early because KG is gonna play too much and wilcox and Pav wont sniff any minutes.

Avery Bradley is looking overated right now. How many times did I hear fans say not to trade him. I hope we didnt turn down any good offers because right now he is being exposed as a t/o machine and his defense isnt looking like it did last year. If he aint playing lock down defense, he is basically a liability out there with his t/o's and lack of playmaking ability.

This, to me was the biggest factor in the loss. Rondo wasnt missed so much during the reg. season but in postseason where posessions are limited, fouls are few and its more hlaf court Bball, Avery is NOT the answer. I would rather J.Craw run the show cuz he isnt scared to shoot and can pass the ball. Terry would also be better. Time to put Bradley back at the backup 2 guard spot. Let him guard J.Kidd and frustrate his old *ss

Thats a nice idea, but if u didnt notice, Bass was being used to guard Melo and did a decent job and Pav cannot guard Melo. Its always nice to point out this and that after losses, but trust Pav aint doing Sh*t, cuz he will just get pushed around and the refs Def. aint giving no walk on from China any calls in the playoffs. Cmon man, use some perspective. Pav aint doint nothing in limited minutes vs the Knick in playoffs. Wilcox maybe but Pav doesnt have enough respect and will get bullied.

Well.... considering how depleted the Cs are, maybe, just maybe..  he ought to, considering how little he has to lose.

If he doesn't... then shame on doc for being downright dumb.

some people on this thread seem to believe that a basketball coach has no influence on what players on the floor do. every team in the NCAA sweet 16 was better coached than the Celtics. yes that includes Louisville and Rick Patino.

This is way the C's are clearly not better without Rondo. Time to admit it. 4 points in the fourth and the inability to move the ball wouldn't be an issue.

    Re: Congratulations Doc Rivers

I just hope that Doc goes away from his M.O. of shortening the rotation in the playoffs. I believe that Doc only gave 8 players time on the floor. His team was obviously exhausted in that 2nd half. Doc has to use Randolph and Terrence Williams maybe even a little White. If he doesn't use these guys you can expect the same results as in game 1. Let's face the facts: Courtney Lee and Jeff Green have always been tentative players, Jason Terry is a corpse, Pierce and KG, while still great players, can no longer carry the load of the team on their shoulders. Boston does not have a point guard (with the exception of TWIll) or a true Center (with the exception of Randolph). That shortened rotation sealed Boston's fate. Doc has gotta open things up in order for Boston to win.

So you think having Rondo and still scoring for pts from the bench is not a problem?  The problem is we don't have a "backup" pt guard.  Haven't had one in years.  We always have these combo guards that don't get the job done.  Doc has to play these guys and coach them thru it.  We had 3 guys play outside the starters and they were all guards.  Part of the problem is Doc never has quickly developed young players.  He sits them for a year or two before he will trust them.  Pops on the other hand plays his young guys. The spurs had a backup PG named Joseph playing yesterday.  You think Doc would have played him?

So...what do you think of the team? With a real topnotch coach what do you think?

Break it down...how is the Celtics roster better than the Knicks?

lack of scoring in the 4th has been an issue for years, including with Rondo, due to the lack of an inside game offensively.

Rondo rarely helps in the 4th quarter. Particularly with Rondo doing his thing, the offense fades out.

Are we better with Rondo on the floor?

Are we better with a PG playing who rooted against his own team this season when he was injured?

I think not... but the issue is one of coaching, less so Rondo.

R9R is an irrelevant WASH except that he depletes docs energy and makes him lazy.

We'd do better with a coach with fire in his belly.

This is the Celtic head coach being quoted after the game 2 loss to the Knicks:

“I don’t know what we’re doing wrong at the beginning of third quarters,”

and youre still wondering why we had back2back horrendous second halfs??? As bad as we played, Doc Rivers doesnt know what we're doing wrong... why is this man coaching??
