If there is any consolation, I think we have a better chance at not getting swept than the Lakers vs. OKC...that is if they make it to the 8th spot. Naturally, we have a better, albeit slim perhaps, chance of beating the Knicks. Theirs will be slim and none !!!

Most knowledgable fans recognize high powered offenses fail to maintain that level in the playoffs. This is attributed to teams able to ficus and game plan for one team over a 7 game series.  IF anything can be said, its that defense beats offense most of the time.

I don't see the Celtics winning this series.  I believe they will win 2 games.  I hope that I am wrong but the Knicks having been playing great basketball lately.

    1. 4 games/Celts

    2.Green

    3, 3

    4.92.5

    5.KG

    6. 27

    7.658

To Win the series, Green has to step up/and PP has to be the pt forward all around player

providing offense when needed..If PP is high scorer(series) we are in trouble..if Green is scoring, it means we are running and getting everybody involved....

    Re: Cs-Knicks Playoff Contest

I think like last year we can go as far as KG can carry us. If he gives us sth close to 20 and 10 we have a chance. Unfortunately Chandler is a great Defender, very tall and (if healthy) very mobil. 2011 he could even step out and defend a penetrating Bosh. KG and Chandler both had some injuries lately. Lets see who will be more healthy. Second big question mark: Who is bringing the ball up under pressure? All our guards (and forwards) are not elite in that aspect. Third key: Can Green play on a high level over an entire series. One move and 3 point shooting is not enough.

If you consider our season, the individual strength or the player and the current streaks: Unfortunately Knicks in 6!

    Re: Cs-Knicks Playoff Contest

    Hi,

I'm not too much into prediction.

I'd say that if JG stays agressive, PP's shooting is OK, JT is doing what he's supposed to do - 3pt threat and BB makes 50-70% of his midrange jumpers, Celtics have a chance to beat NYK.

Also, as others suggested, let Melo score his 30-35 points - just keep all others from 3-pt line. Maybe KG finds another topic of conversation to get into Melo's head. If he does - Celtics in 6.

As for Chandler, I'm not sure he's going to be very effective due to his recent injuries.

And, as others pointed already, Celtics have to split games in NY then the series is for grabs.

    Just my $.02

Defense beats offense most of the time?

    HAHAHA

The only time the Celts won a championship was when they averaged 100.5 ppg, top 4 in FG%, and top 5 in 3pt FG%.

You should do some research, Karl.

Before you direct others to carefully research the situation, may I ask if the statistics you provide include the Celtics" other 16 championships before the 2008 win????
