we have a much better team; shaq will rebound and intimidate- wafer will surprise and delonte west adds clutch shooting- a lot will depend on how well JON can play. he is one of these guys with potential to be good but someone who can also disappear -

The signing of Jermaine & Shaquille may have improved the Celtics on paper but watching these two players last year showed serious deterioration in both their games. Shaq has proven that he can play in big games but father time has caught up with him. And the Daddy has a history of injuries. His presence will slow the offense down and his free throw shooting is a huge liability.
As for Jermaine, his knees and mental fortitude are questionable. He was intimidated during the playoffs. He's just a shell of what some considered a promising career.
The trade sending Eddie House to the Knicks for Nate Robinson was a serious mistake. Just like letting James Posey go was a huge mistake. Eddie proved that he could step up in big games. Nate is too erratic and inconsistent. As for Von Wafer, that guy's trash. Delonte West will run circles around him.
Delonte was potentially the best pickup for the Celtics. But like with the Lakers last year in letting Ariza go for Artest, the team is going to have to monitor this guy all year. If he doesn't mentally implode, being a tough defender and effective shooter, he should help the Celts.
Finally, Doc has already proven that he'll run his vets ragged throughout the season. He just can't help himself. Rivers is too blinded by his love for the older guys, forgetting time and again that age risks injury. I don't believe that Doc will somehow change his style of coaching, consistently forgetting that the elderly Celtics need rest. -

Celts have improved.
I would not have resigned Daniels but whatever
KG should be stronger
RR should improve
Strong contenders at least
P.S. Doc need to play this bench more and give the new players some time -

Why are you Celtics fans so excited. Ainge has tricked you into continuing to buy tickets. So much action. Resigning Pierce and Allen. Signing the O'Neals. West. Drafts.
But it was all on the cheap Boston. You would've been unstoppable say 5 years ago. Now the team is too old.
Pierce = old
Ray = old
Shaq = old
Jermaine = old/bad knees
West = troubled
Harangody = slow
Bradley = a bust
Von Wafer = journeyman
Daniels = disappointment
So all your acquisitions are really nothing. You'll be lucky to win 30 games.
The LAKERS added BLAKE and the best reserve in the game, BARNES. We will crush the Miami Heat, and threepeat, and continue the DYNASTY!

I was disappointed in Jermaines play last season. Particularity in the play offs. Perhaps he'll be motivated by Garnett and company. I don't think he can be any worse than Wallace was last season. -

There's no way JO will have more techs in one season than Rasheed Wallace. Definitely JO will be an upgrade from an aging Sheed. -

In Response to C's should now be favs to win title:I know some may think it's being overly optimistic but I think this C's team will be even better than last year's team. Think about it. We added Quis and Sheed last year, then Nate...that was it. KG came back 90% but our bench wasn't as good. They come within 6 mins of winning a title and run out of gas. So now we've added a better Rondo, a healthier KG, Shaq, JON, Wafer and West. If Bradley comes to camp showing he can outplay Nate maybe he gets some run...I doubt it. We may not have a solid 3 to sub for PP but overall the bench is better. Doc will have to use his imagination, but I like a 2nd unit of Nate Wafer/West Quis BBD Shaq We definately don't have to worry about going in scoring droughts anymore. It's a two team race between LA & Boston but with a motivated Shaq he could be the difference vs LA.
