Exactly. Josh Smith is fool's gold. If he was truly ALL that then he could have been a deciding factor in at least ONE of those  Atlanta/C'S playoff series in which the Celtics prevailed. But alas, he didn't. He's simply not clutch. Much like Rondo. Otherworldly numbers that put you in a position to win but not enough to put you over the top(I know 08). Amare is simply a joke(no rebounding, no defense, no staying power)...

Both Josh Smith and Amare are upgrades over Bass.

If the Celts battle the Heat again with KG and Bass as the best frontcourt combo, the Celts are just going to lose again.

Josh Smith and Amare are not ideal. But that could also be the reason why they could be available. What's the point of wanting someone like Kevin Love if he's 100% NOT available.

It's not true that Amare is not a good rebounder. He has averaged 8-9 rebounds per game in his career. Bass has never averaged more than 6 rpg his whole career.

And Bass is also not known for his defense.

Again, while Josh Smith and Amare are not ideal. They're upgrades over Bass.

Amare has broken down each year he has been down in NY.  That should concern you.  Healthy he is an upgrade.

But that was because he shot himself in the foot, so to speak. Amare didn't get injured because of basketball. Last season he missed games in the playoffs because he got frustrated and punched the glass on the wall. It cut his arm so bad, he couldn't play. Against the Celts 2 seasons ago, he got hurt in warm-ups when he was attempting a fancy dunk.

It's not like Amare gets hurt because of basketball related injuries. It was all self-inflicted.

The fact that his contract is not insured is pretty self inflicted as well

Maybe they can get Dwight Howard?

    ROTFLMAO!!!

Amare has back problems.  And you trade those three you will ruin the rotation.  Sully everyone has high hope for but I now see him as a good role player not a star.  He will not be big enough to  dominate as a starter at least not on a winner. I would trade him and leave Amare to some other sucker. He is a good player who won't win anything and has many mile on his odometer already.

His contract is ridiculous as well.  Let the Knicks suffer. Varajeo for half will fit in much better with this roster.
