Delonte West might return!

The Celtics have been seeking a tough-minded defender to replace Tony Allen, now that he signed with the Memphis Grizzlies. And according to a source, their interest could spread to former Celtic Delonte West, who is expected to be waived by the Minnesota Timberwolves after the club acquired him in a trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers Monday. Boston GlobeWest, whose full contract is not guaranteed if waived by Aug. 5, could be the moderately priced defender the Celtics seek, but of course, he would come with a plethora of issues. West pleaded guilty to weapons charges in a strange case where he was caught carrying three guns while on a motorcycle in his native Maryland last year. He received eight months of home detention but the judge ruled he would be allowed to travel with his NBA team. Boston Globe -

Over Wyc Grousbeck's dead body. But the kid can ball, even though he's crazy.
At least we know he won't end up in Miami. -

YES!!!
I want to see LeBron's mom in a Celtic jersey at the Heat games.
He's a true PG, unlike Nate. He's also nuts, apparently. But this team is no monument to sanity. Get him, sign Shaq, and we're done. -

I want Delonte back, sign him on the cheap and if he acts up you cut him right? Besides, who wouldn't want to see this? -

The NBA is a talent league. Since when did we become so picky?
Let's see:
Shaun Kemp- possession of firearms and narcotics, and 50+ illegitimate children
Isiah Rider- Kidnapping, grand theft auto
Ruben Patterson-- raped his underaged nanny, registered sex offender
Eddie Griffin-- wrecked his car while masturbating to porn
Jason Kidd-- beat his wife
Alan Iverson-- assault, drug possession, weapons possession
Zach Randolph-- weapons possession, DUI, alleged rape
Kobe Bryant-- alleged rape
and the list goes on.
West may be nuts, but what he did pales in comparison to other guys-- including seveal stars and superstars who have been heavily marketed by the league.
If the Celtics want to get past Miami and get revenge on LA, West is exactly the kind of player they need. -

No need for CANCER on the team and in the locker room.

I never liked Delonte West. Even before he got all the tats and went crazy. There was always something about him I didn't like. It was probably the interview that FSNE did with him. He came off as really stupid. But the thing that really stood out was his ridiculous amount of arrogance. We just got rid of one role player that thought he was a star in Tony Allen. Do we really need another?
I'll admit it. I'm a character guy to an extent. I refuse to root for wife beaters and drunk drivers. But I don't even care about West's personal issues. They aren't that big of a deal. I just don't see how he would help this team from a talent standpoint. To me, Delonte West is going to make his living coming off the bench on .500 teams. He isn't good enough to contribute anything to a championship contender.
And when is he going to get that cold sore on his mouth taken care of? -

LOL.
But just think. With Tony Allen gone, West would give the haters a new raison e'etre.
As for the "character guys", you must be beside yourselves that they haven't resigned Scalabrine. -

I find it to be poor taste for some of you posters here to be referring to a person with a mental disorder as "nuts and crazy." For your information, many famous and successful people have or had bipolar disorder. -

I have wanted Scal gone for years. He could be a saint for all I care. He is one of the worst pro basketball players I have ever seen in my life. Actually,I can't think of anybody worse that actually managed to stick in the league. He makes Gerald Green look like an All Star. Hell, he makes Orien Green look like an all an All Star.
I saw a picture of Larry Bird. He looks like he's at least 50 ponds over weight. And he's gotta be in his 50s. I would bet my life that he could still destroy Scal on the basketball court.
Nice guy or not, it's time for him to go. Besides, who really knows anyway? Remember that TE for the Packers back in the 90s that everybody thought was a great guy. Until they caught him a hot tub with a 15 year old. We like to pretend we know these people. But we don't.
For all we know, Scal could be a complete d bag. The only thing I'm certain of with him is what I see on the court. He does not belong in the NBA.
And I'm sorry, but I don't think it's asking too much for my teamto find 12 talented players that don't beat women, children or animals. Or get trashed and try to kill people with their vehicle.
If there are people that are willing to cross any moral line to win a basketball game, I feel bad for them. Talk about needing perspective. It's a game. That's it. Just because Jason Kidd can put a ball through a hole doesn't mean he isn't a loser. He's wife beating piece of garbage. I don't respect him and I never will. He's a punk and a coward. -

It's not because I started this thread that I like to have him returned to our bench. I'd rather pass too but then I want a good ball player return. DA just doesn't have many options. -

What does having bipolar have to do with being pulled over with a bag full of guns? If that's not crazy, I don't know what is. The question nobody seems to want to ask is what he was planning on doing with them before the cops caught him. You think he was going to show and tell?
Sane people don't carry bags of guns. I'm sorry, they just don't. -

Flora Allen has quite a bit more sense than Gloria James. As much as this leaves a bad taste, it has a chance at the min. He has just about the perfect skills for thier needs. I think the C's have better team leaders to boot. -

West has not harmed any person (or animal) except himself. He's had bouts of depression and he was speeding on his motorcycle with guns in his possession. None of the guns was fired. He also allegedly slept with a certain older woman, but so what?
Really, in the grand scheme of things, West's trangressions have been minor. Also, he's currently under court supervision, which lowers the risk for the Celtics. -

As long as it's for a 1-yr cotract, might be worth the gamble. I don't think he will be a problem in the locker room, but the off court stuff is really a head scratcher.
And can we please stop with the personal attacks on the guy's appearance? I'm sure all of you critics get up and look in the mirror and see Brad Pitt or Denzell Washington, right?
