2 Rebounds. Not bad. What I liked the most in those 3 Minutes was that he only cared for the rebounds. If DJ White could pull off a Leon Powe type of playing for a 5-7 min time, something the C's could complement with their current playing style, C's would be very dangerous...

Not a bad proposal. Lets hope White shows something in practice to change Rivers mind. -

Premature ... let's see Doc gradually increase his minutes as he plays well and can contribute consistantly ... He must earn it, not be handed it over a proven player.

You don't need a prediction to know that Bass is NOT a starter. My preference is to put Bass on the bench and let White start. I don't know if Doc is going to do that.

The criticism of Brandon Bass strikes me as over the top. He's not a great player. We get it. He doesn't have to be a great player. He shoots reasonably well for a big and that's about it. That's okay for a rotation guy. The way some of you talk it's as though Brandon Bass is the second coming of Brett Szabo. Bass is a solid contributor with strong fundamentals (the two-handed rebounding Fierce chides). He deserves to play.
You don't start a Charlotte Bobcat castoff newly arrived from the Chinese League over a proven NBA regular unless something happens in practice (or in the limited NBA minutes the new guy receives) to merit the promotion. White needs to learn the Celtic system. He needs to earn his minutes. He needs to develop chemistry with his new teammates. That takes time and patience. Rivers is in a better position than any of us to make judgments based on the complete makeup of a player's attitude, readiness, and performance. We don't know 75% of what happens.

Bass is not a bad player, he's just not a starter. If he's up against the 2nd stringers then he's good enough. But starting him and letting him play against the 1st team of the opposing team is not good for Bass and the Celts. -

The only reason to start a guy like DJ over bass would be if
1. the opposing bigs were really big and we wanted to knock them around early or let someone else take the initial pounding (jason collins did this at times)
2. The 2nd unit was struggling to score and we needed bass in that slot.

Bass needs Rondo in a big way. Rondo's drives got him a lot of wide open shots last year. This year he is being guarded and is not fairing too well.

+1Once he learns the "system" he should at least get the kind of minutes that Collins was getting.

The problem is that even when Bass gets those wide open looks, he often hesitates instead of immediately going up, usually resulting in an out of rhythm shot or a poorly conceived drive to the hoop. Last year he almost always took the shot and made a high percentage of those elbow and baseline jumpers. -

That makes two of you who need Rondo pretty badly then! The rest of the team, or us DON'T! -

Have a good cry he is coming back, next year and will run this team for the forseeable future.

The team needs him and will welcome him back with open arms. The fans will as well. A few very vocal and frankly delusional types will wail and gnash their teeth about why Doc and Danny don't listen to their incompetent opinions When he returns..So enjoy yourself for now. He'll be back better than ever next year and many years after and the team will be better for it... Cheers.
