Doc needs to stop coaching to not lose and start trying to win games.

Shortening the line ups, letting some players do whatever they want and others micro manage and playing head games with young players. TA had 13 pts,4 rebs and 4 steals last night, but would never had gotten off the bench. We're playing an 10 man rotation and we're basically playing 7. Do math and quit trying to reinvent the wheel. If PP won't pass the ball up the court and continues to mostly look more for his or KGs shot and reluctantly passes the ball, usuaaly a lazy stealable pass, bench him and have him sit, a long time. I think  Doc is ready to retire and is kinda going through the motions, because we are better trhan this.

Yeah Sit Paul Pierce. That'll put the series in the bag.

Dont get all over Doc, seriously. Hes doing the best he can with what little coaching ability he has.

Doesnt Doc make sense??  We lost 2 starters and we have spme very old players who are on the back 9...... so Doc shortens the rotation... that'll keepm chipper for the 4th qtr..

He also deftly coverted a young, green defensive specialist who may be the worse dribbler on the team (maybe one day he will multitask and keep his head up while dribbling the ball) into our PG.... on the job training. Smart huh?

EVERY COACH shortens the rotation in the playoffs!  You do watch basketbsall right? They do it because things like back to backs dissapear so the players don't have fatigue carry over game to game.

Also because it's more important to have your best players out there.

Watch San Antonio play and then watch the Celtics.

It will tell you how bad a coach Rivers is.

San Antonoi didn't lose it's best player and two other important rotation guys. Pop is the best Doc is top 5.

Who wants to be number 5?

probably 6-30. If Pop decides he wants to coach the Celtics though, I'm all for it, but in the meantime Doc is a terrifc coach and I'm happy to have him.

This is one of the stupider posts.  Doc never coaches "not to lose."  He may not coach the way you would in a given situation, but how many NBA games have you won?  He lost his two proven point guards and is trying his next best option given that the other options are proven scorers (except when they don't).  His second or third best Big is out,his stars are old, and his bench -- ostensibly full of scorers -- has forgotten what the basket looks like.  Clearly, it's all Doc's fault.

I know Doc has lost alot more nba games than me.  Maybe I should be coach

Ummm, when the Celtics still had Rondo & Sully playing.... and by virtue of your analysis, Doc didnt have these excuses.. what was the teams record? Oh right, 20-23...

Who put AB, a clumsey, green as a rook,  eyes looking at the floor dribbling 2 guard, into the PG position?

As much as you try to camouflauge Docs failed performance, it unravels very quickly.... I wish DOc was a good coach, I really do... but hes not imo... not even close

At this point the ONLY chance we have is to fire Doc tonight and hire Tommy H to coach until he loses. Tommy is as much Mr. Celtic as Red,Russ,Hondo,Cowens and Mr. Most, what do we have to lose? At least somebody should point out that doing the same thig over and over and expecting different results is bothe definition of both insanity and stupitity.

Couldn;t do any worse and probably neither would you either. Sorry it's not about Docs' abilities but now,it's his compassion and commitment. Sorry but, he's mailing it in ,he gave up way before the team did. Right now I would wholeheartedly agree though that we should have fired Doc and kept Thibs. I also think I can do a better job than he is in this series, eventhough the highest level I have ever coached is teen AAU in Texas.

Would anyone on this forum have a tougher time going 0-3 to the Knicks than Doc?? In fact, I dont think the Celtics have looked any worse this entire season than this stretch of 3 losses to the Knicks..

Did Doc melt and get seriously out coached in the playoffs?? Not far fetched when youre a poor coach to begin with
