Doc Rivers lack of patience in this game cost the Celtics. If your name isn't Pierce,Allen,Garnett or Rondo your looking over your shoulder all night. The throwing his hands in the air every time Krstic made a mistake. Pulling him off the floor less than 1 minute into the second half. You can see it hurt his play because he started rushing everything. Rivers had or has the second half of the season to get some of the bench players in shape for the play-offs, but they can't help if you don't give them playing time. West played 18 minutes, Orroyo DNP, Murphy 3.41 minutes. Your killing the starter! Rondo who we all know is struggling because he is hurting and tired played over 40 minutes. They will have nothing left for the play-offs.
Why did they sign Murphy? If you don't play him how is he going to help? Three minutes isn't helping this guy or the team.
So yes the players need to play better, but Rivers needs to start coaching better! -

Rondo is playing so much now because he just lost the assist lead to Nash as of tonight.
Its all about stats for Rondo.

It appears it's Rondo's decision now. Otherwise there will be another hissy-fit on displayed on national television. -

35, 35, 37 & 41
THose are the minutes played by PP, KG, Ray & Rondo last night
So much for DOcs fairy tales about limiting the starters minutes no matter what. I woulnt even mind the losses so much if the starters really needed the rest and Doc gave it to them..
But its obvious they are not tired out... its a fairy tale to say the big 4 are tired and need to rest for the playoffs... Doc keeps trying to convince people thats the case and swears to limit their minutes cause its necessary to be ready for the playoffs..
BS! -

I'm not sure if they need the rest or not. My issue is they will need some of these bench players for the play-offs. If they don't get more time on the floor because of Doc's lack of patience, then this falls on Doc. However Ray Allen and Rondo need rest to play well, especially Ray because when he short on all his jumpers it's because he has lost his leap. Like what happened to him in a few play-offs games last year. -

A celtic fan blaming someone other than the refs for a loss. WOW!

14-0 Second chance points and a 11 -4 domination of the offensive boards lost the game for Boston. There were numerous occasions the C's played good D only to give up the offensive board. That killed them last night. Not Doc. -

Love the Freudian slip! He does lack patients (read personnel), because most of them look like they belong in some rehab ward. I know the season is long, but you just have to figure out how to win games like that, against marginal teams, when home court is on the line. C'mon, guys, you are getting paid a huge amount of money to show up for every game. -

The very least Doc could have done is put Krstic in with the Cs down one with 16-20 seconds left (Rondo's pathetic raindrop) for rebounding purposes. Yes...Doc's coaching was a bit suspect last night.

Doc was playing small ball which is why there was such a discrepancy. There was 1 player last night that was blocking out and that was the one Doc kept ripping all night (Krstic) He blocked out while Garnett,Pierce, Davis and Allen watched the ball. Murphy can rebound but when you're only playing three minutes a night you can't find any rhythm in a new system. Rivers has done a poor job all year with the bench players because he has no patience.
If everyone can rip Rondo for every bad play he makes, then maybe its time to critique Doc a little more. -

Right you are, and actually the original post did say "Doc Rivers", so it really was perfect. I do actually agree with the original post too that "Doc" needs to find some new cures for his own coaching ills. The fact that he is only 9-8 against the West, which obviously he knows less well, says something about his ability to come up with good game plans against teams he does not know by heart. Too often he reminds me of Francoma, who does a decent job overall, especially with player morale but is just not very clever when it comes to coaching/managing in the clutch. -

So Garnett, Allen,... did not box out and watched the ball? Good observation, blame them and not Doc. -

Not Doc's fault...the PG has to shoot a higher percentage especially when he isn't being guarded.

I don't think Doc had anything to do with the loss last night, Rondo wanted to be the "Hero" and did something so unorthodox that I wanted to SMACK the nine into a six. Why in the world would he take that shot? I feel Rondo has PTTD (Post Traumatic Trade Disorder). He has never been the same after the Perkins trade. Rondo and Perkins were very close and I feel he (Rondo) has a little animosity towards that decision. I hope he gets over it very soon, for the sake of 18. Peace! -

Doc sees that Rondo is pounding the ball on the floor allowing the shot clock to widdle down to like 7 secs before forcing something up.
He needs to drive hard to the hole, he can beat most anyone off the dribble... If not a layup, he disrupts defenses, causing switching all over the place...that opens guys up..
Hes not doing it, hes waisting possessions and DOc knows it.. He said so much in the post game interview last night.
Rondo has been taking alot of heat on this forum lately and rightfully so... but where is DOc when this is going on? Last night Doc finally acknowledged what fans here have been saying for weeks.... hes being passive, not driving hard & being his normal self..
If Doc cant straighten this out during the game, in between games or whenever, hes not doing his job. maybe he just wants Rondo to do it on his own while the team suffers...hard to figure but hes the coach, I guess (hope) he knows what hes doing -

my beef: when we needed a 3 at the end of the game, y on earth do we have kg, rondo and bb in the game? would rather have had green-ray-pierce-murph/arroyo-west in the game....
