I agree, they hope to move him and want to be careful.  He is worth no more than a bag of balls at this point.  His contract expires and in a package we can finally be rid of him.  He is the most brittle injury prone athlete I have ever seen. Why they signed him when he had faltered badly for two years with Miami is one of the dumbest decisions they have made.

In Response to Does Doc really think we are that stupid:
Here is a quote from Doc about JO...........I find it really hard to believe that no one, including Doc, knows what the test results are on JO's wrist when it is they that send him to Dr's for tests...........and then Rivers comes out with this quote Jermaine O’Neal was scheduled to get his left wrist examined by team physician Brian McKeon and a hand specialist yesterday, but that appointment has been put off until today. “I don’t know,” coach Doc Rivers said when asked about the situation. “I just know Eddie ( Lacerte , the trainer) thought he should get it checked, so that’s what they’re doing. But other than that, I don’t know.” The timing of things seems a bit odd, in that O’Neal was sent home from Dallas to be checked after spraining the wrist in a Feb. 20 loss to the Mavericks. “I know he went home to get it evaluated, and then they have to send him somewhere else, so maybe they did see something,” Rivers said. “But I don’t know that yet.” I mean come on Doc.............JO is a multi million toy in a multimillion dollar organization and he goes to a specialist and you don't know why they are sending him to another specialist.........I find that very patronizing to us as fans........as Dr. Phil says "get real".  I am tired of not getting the real story........the Celtics organization is getting more political than the political parties.........you never know what the story is...........

What is it he's supposed to say?  Why would he give any info to anyone?  What does he have to gain from doing that?

It's probably because he wishes JO stays wherever he's at.

Well, you must be a public relations specialist then if you think there's something different he should say.   What do you expect?

If he says "I want JON gone", that doesn't waork if he has to come back.  For all we know, Danny may not be able to move him.  He also can't say "nothing's wrong and he'll be back in a few days" because he may not be.

Only smart thing to say is "he went to see a doctor and I don't know if anything is seriously wrong or not".

Rather than question what Doc said, tell us how YOU would handle it as the coach who has to deal with him if he comes back?
In Response to Re: Does Doc really think we are that stupid : How about we are not sure........there was something that they saw that required other tests.....the results of that should determine the length of his sitting out.....

Laughing out loud......that's what he said!!!

Here's what Doc said:   "I know he went home to get evaluated, and then they have to send him somewhere else, so maybe they did see something".

Here's what you said:  "we are not sure........there was something that they saw that required other tests"

What's the difference?   Would you like to really think your words are materially different than Doc's?

This is not a big deal.  Move on.

Remember those HIPPA forms you now have to sign for your Doc?

your exactly right celticsfan4life.  Why would any fan even want Doc to tell the truth when it can just cause problems with the team if they don't move him.  If the celtics said JO was on the trading block then other teams would realize that the celtics pretty much HAVE to trade him, and we wouldn't get as much in return.  If keeping quiet is best for the celtics for multiple reasons, why would any fan have a problem with that.  Its just not smart to tell the media everything.  Comes back to bite you in the a**.

Thank you.  Your additional explanation if even better than mine!  So many reasons to "just be conservative" in what you say and not box yourself into some corner.
In Response to Re: Does Doc really think we are that stupid : How about being honest to the people who ultimately pay the salaries instead of stringing us along.........seriously do you think that anyone really changes their game plan depending of whether JO is in the lineup for his 20 minutes or not......just be open with us......it is like I tell my kids once you lie it is very hard to believe anything you say..........if Doc doesn't want to tell us just say that........but don't patronize me by saying you sent him to two specialist and you don't know what they found out............that is just wrong.........Doc might not have any press conferences anymore because he can't be trusted in anything he says.......
    Posted by damfuno
You fans crack me up with that "we ultimately pay their salaries" line.  BS.  You pay the owners.  You do not pay the players.  Yes your contributions to the owners help pay the players, but fans do not pay the salaries of athletes.  That's like saying I pay your salary because I put my money into whatever company it is that you work for.  Should I then be able to tell you what to say or how to act?
