Unlikely.

They're not going to risk injury by staying one more year in college.

If Sully came out in 2011, he would've been a top 5 pick.

Sully decided to return to school and it cost a few million dollars.
then i think da should go after embiid at all cost.

Celts must go for Parker or Embiid.

If both are not available then let's hope Ainge gets lucky.
I HOPE worst case scenerio is Seldon. That kid can BALL. All aspects of the game. He would be a great combo guard, especially if Lee or Crawford as dealt.

Of course Jabari is the prize. I wonder which of the "lesser" SFs will outshine the two tops guys. I want that one!

    Re: draftees

I heard something today that really got my attention about the Pacers. The point J. Rose was making is that all 5 of their starting guys can guard their position and that's what makes them so special. Right now i think Rondo, Avery, Jeff and Brandon can well defend their own positions. We need an Embiid to defend the bigger 5's and quicker 4's who get to the basket.

Its tough though because I am equally a fan of Sullinger starting, but Brandon is playing so well and especially defending so well.

I am really excited about the direction of this team, these players. Lets remember that unless we get Jabari, I don't think any of the guys in this 2014 draft will become stars over night. Look at the best young players. The best of the best show signs in their rookie year, but don't quite dominate until their 3rd year and make that leap until year 4-5. George is a great example. I think Drummond is a top Center eventually and he is on that same trajectory. Embiid will be somewhat producive for us next year, something like 10-15 minutes per game, but he's not going to walk into the NBA as a 30mpg starting Center and dominate in his first year.

That's why I'd rather trade for a Center who is ready because we have a SF and a PG who are ready and a SG and a PF who are much MORE ready.

C's are in 1st place in the Atlantic Division.  If this keeps up, you can forget the lottery altogether.   This Division is terrible and we are looking at being scrimmage partners for Miami or Indiana in the 1st round of the PS and a mid teen pick in next June's draft.

    top prospects:

    The Golden Boy: Jabari Parker

All Star Seconds: Julius Randle, Andrew Wiggins (i guess)

Guys I Love: Marcus Smart, Wayne Seldon, Jabari Bird

Sleepers for later to me: Shabazz Napier, kid can score. Adrian Payne, just solid.

Another one of those long, unpolished 5s that wil take a while to develop and may still have serious limitations in his game.

We tend to get seduced more by our needs than by the quality of what we pursue.

Make sure that attribute it to me if you decide to use this line.  Smile

Brandon Bass is good but he'll be 29 years old in April.

The Celts are rebuilding, so players above the age of 25 are not part of the future plans.

Only Rondo and Jeff Green are the exceptions.
Many have trouble understanding this, the post.  The post about KO are short sighted. Crawford and Sullinger are taking off, Fav and KO will take more time.  Avery with better shot selection could make it.  Green is sleepy but still effective. The vets have their chance now to do it.
