    Durant a future Celtic

If Ainge doesn't land Wiggins or Parker his next big fish should be Durant after the 2015 season. Durant has said countless times that Larry Bird was his favorite player growing up and he patterned his game after Bird. What better recruiting tool would it be to play in Boston like Bird did. They can't unretire his number but he could leave a legacy in Boston.

Was Durant even alive when Bird was playing?

Born in 1988.  How much of Bird could he possibly remember?

I don't know but he said Bird was his favorite player growing up.

There's such a thing as watching players on video. I've done it.

Really? Just because someone likes a player growing up means they want to play for that team? He said he liked Bird, not the Celtics.... If that were the case, everyone would want to play for the bulls....

Durant will never come to the Celtics. Unless Danny trades for him. Trading is the only vehicle Danny is comfortable with.

so if the guy wants to hang with Bird, wouldn't it be more likely that he would sign with Indiana?

    Bingo!

    HAHAHA

I also agree.  Even though Kevin Durant is my favorite NBA player and I would love to see him playing for the Celtics.  It isn't going to happen.

Kd's not going anywhere.  That city would offer up their firstborn if they had to.

Chances of signing Durant are slim, but I don't understand why you guys are giving BirdLewisBias such a hard time.

Ainge would not be doing his due diligence if he didn't spend some time trying to figure out how he could sign Durant in 2015. It may not be his top plan but he has to consider it.

    Re: Durant a future Celtic

No top FA's coming to boston without a serious core of other potential all stars waiting for them.

Players now don't have any regard for the history in Boston.  All they see is a wintery city with a lack of diversity.  What they want is warm weather and other top tier talent.

Durant is a very loyal player, and LOVES OKC.  It would have to be in a trade and even then he is good enough to squash any trade that doesn't put him where he wants to be.

Same with Kevin Love.  There is a better chance that those two end up on the same team before either of them ever end up in Boston.

When Rondo goes, so goes any chance to have a player of quality choose, by his own accord, to play in Boston.  He is the only draw we have because he can promise high point totals, and he is on his way out.
