ESPN asks-Who's the best point guard of all time?

    http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/page/5-on-5-110725/point-guard-ratings

Funnily enough, brick dosen't get a mention although he did get nominated for the most over-rated point guard. Strange how boston folks would have everyone believe that brick was going to be the greatest pg of all time. 3 seasons ago ppl like dfairy, russ (and his former alter ego's) posted on this site that brick would surpass the great Magic Johnson. Guess what......WRONG!!

All hail Magic Johnson, the greatest point guard of all time.

I assume they mean after Joseph Forte, our converted 2 guard taken ahead of Tony Parker in the draft.

After Forte I would probably go with that guy Magic Johnson.

Hard to argue with Magic being #1 but I'd throw the Big O into the conversation and wouldnt be upset if anyone thought he was top dog.

Unfortunately, Rondo is not in this conversation. In 20 years, most people (except maybe Celtic fans) wont even remember Rondos name based upon his body of work to date.

Actually Rondo is in this conversation... kinda.

Check his inclusion in the "Most Overrated" list.

Rondo is only overrated in the way Derek Jeter is. He does all the little things that can help a very good team become great. However there is debate how great he would look on a lesser team, like the Clippers. Much like if Jeter played for the Brewers. Who knows?

But Rondo does a ton of positives for the C's.

Derek Jeter is not overrated at all. He is one of the greatest baseball players ever, plain and simple.

Last I noticed, the Yankee captain just got his 3,000th hit for the Yankees. He is the real deal, the total package. A first ballot HOFer. A consummate professional. He has excelled in every aspect of the game for 17 years on the biggest stage in MLB and is the cornerstone of the current Yankee dynasty.

Overrated.... not hardly. His stats are staggering. He is the complete player.

Any comparison between Jeter and Rondo is pure fantasy.

Jeter has had 15 seasons to build up his stats and Rondo four. Let's see where Rondo is all time in steals and assists 8 years from now.

My point was JETER IS NOT OVERRATED. There are players who when put on very good teams, do the little unappreciated things that make those teams great. Jeter and Rondo are similar in that regard.

I think theres a lot more little things to do in basketball than in baseball. In baseball, you cant force very much to happen as you can in basketball.

What Jeter has done is build a rep of performing in the clutch and in the playoffs/WS. Either at the plate or in the field.

As far as Rondos stats 8 years from now, well, its anybodies guess.

Lastly, being on a good team will help a basketball player much, much more than it would a baseball player imo.  Both are team sports but baseball is far down the list and much more an individual game than basketball.

Jeter wasn't put on a very good team. The Yankees were very mediocre when he broke into the league. He became the cornerstone of the late 1990's Yankee dynasty that has continued. He has been Mr. Consistency for 17 years.

He has made everyone around him a better player with his consistency and all around game. When the game is on the line, Derek Jeter shines.

He has already earned a spot as one of the greatest (UGH!!!) Yankees.

    Stick with basketball comparisons.

I think Rondo can be compared to Glenn Pakulak from the NFL.  Glenn is a punter so they both score about as often. Laughing Neither are very good and their teams are just as disgraceful.

Derek Fisher should be on some list....most unable to defend maybe
    ------------------------
He qualifies for the list of players that have more rings than Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, KG, and Rondo combined. Cool

Redley34, cancer also has no cure at this time. There are also millions of kids that are born with the HIV/AIDS disease. Did those innocent kids also reap what they sow? You say that as if you know for certian how Magic contracted the disease? You are really a pathetic old man that should learn sensitivity at times. I'm just sayin'
