For those who aren't insiders, he has the Celtics getting the FOURTH pick! And selecting Karl Towns. He basically says the Celts did nothing in the offseason to help their win total from last year, and still are in dire need of a legit Big Man. (He must not think much of our Sully, Olynyk, Zeller rotation)

Fourth would be great, but personally I think the Celtics will be about 6 or 7 games better than last years team putting them in the 7-10 range.

There will still be a lot of very nice prospects to choose from, possibly including two dynamic SFs: Stanley Johnson, and Kelly Oubre. But also there should be some nice Big Men avail such as Montrezl Harrell, WCS, Myles Turner, and maybe Porzingis.

He's right - it is way TOO early!

"Climb on my back, boys, and I'll take you home." - Cedric Maxwell

"You show me a good loser, and I'll show you a loser." - Red Auerbach

"My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought, cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives." - Hedley Lamarr

If no Bynum injury, no Gasol trade - last word!!

There should be a few decent big men when they pick, but I tend to agree with the writer about #4...we just are not a very good team and the additions will be valuable over time but we've done NADA TO HELP THE FRONT COURT IN DEFENSE, RIM PROTECTION OR OFFENSE FROM THE 4 AND 5 SPOTS (OPPS, caps) In fact, we just might be an NBA worst in those three categories.

Even at 7 or 8 we're NOT any kind of decent team...dump all the vets and do a total rebuild...if we have to suck, at least make it interesting and give some hope for the future. Having to live through another bad year without a total commitment to rebuild would be the worst type of useless agony, especially watching certain back court players ball hog and dribble games away while others get taken to the hole and slowly tortured by guards 5 and 6 inches taller , or even living through inconsistent front court play by various veterans too short, too skinny, or lacking real talent to compete at a championship level.

Thanks for the grammar lesson Mrs. Crabtree.

When a team is in this stage of the rebuilding process it's never too early to bone up on prospective draft picks. These are the guys we should be looking at and talking about. Discussing ways to try to steal current NBA stars is just a pipe dream. These high school and college players are going to be the REALISTIC future of the Boston Celtics.

You're welcome.  Although Ford didn't misspell it on ESPN.  I couldn't disagree more.  It is futile before any of these kids have even played a game to project where they'll be drafted next year.  AFTER the NCAA season?  Sure.  But, we don't know about injury, rotation.....heck, we don't even know if these kids can play.  We don't know about many many kids out there who may have great years.  We don't about transfers.  We don't know about kids coming back from injury (Dinwiddle).  We don't know about Euro players............it is WAAY too early to start talking about this nonsense.

I enjoy your posts, just disagree with the premise here.
