Half truth. You forgot this part: “But it’ll be interesting. They’re really good.”

    Sorry just keeping you honest...

Absolutely agree we should focus on Miami.....not quite sure crappy is the right word to describe the lakers

    Crappy is the perfect word.

    Why?

    Here's why:

    1. No coach, a clown is calling the shots.

    2. No 3pt shooters to complement the big men.

    3. Weak and old bench players.

*Jamison and Blake will play a lot because Peace and Nash are not as good as they used to be.

    4. Injuries.

*Howard is recovering from a herniated disc. He's going to miss training camp. Enough said.

*Nash can't sit down because his back will hurt. In other words, he's playing hurt every time.

    5. Princeton offense?

*A team with Kobe Bryant using the Princeton offense will be like asking Rondo or CP3 to shoot every time.

The Princeton offense is an offensive basketball strategy which emphasizes constant motion, passing, back-door cuts, and disciplined teamwork.

Passing and teamwork is not in Kobe's DNA.

Sound very similar to the Triangle offense which the Lakers used

    Fiercest,

    100% agree with RedRuss.

Everyone and their uncle know that the Celtics are focused on beating the Heat and not on those 2 (out of 82) games against LAL.

As for the Lakers, they haven't played a single game, not even pre-season, yet. So, we can only guess how they're going to perform with the current roster: if they sh*t their pants - fine - we don't have to worry about them in playoffs, if they play great - fine - let's see how they deal with OKC (most probably) in WCF.

OTOH, I understand you: the basketball boredoom reached its apex. Let's be patient - only 12 days left before the training camp and then a month before the first battle.

Great post! DA and Doc have their sights set on the NBA champs, not this year's version of NBA chumps!

The Lakers will not make it past OKC for the many reasons listed in posts above. To make matters worse, Mitch has mortgaged LA's future in an attempt to get KB back to the finals.

On the other side of that coin, instead of spending the summer getting rest for his aging and ailing body, KB decided to continue his quest to catch the far outer edge of MJs shadow. Note to Kobe, "you are not even close."

KB's performance in the Olympics was mediocre at best. His participation also took a spot away from a deserving upcoming player.

With the above stated, it will be fun to watch the Lakers season unravel, both literally and figuratively.

    Go Celtics!!

It's the right mindset. They need to focus on getting past Miami. They built this team to beat the heat. They need to get out of the east before they can think about the Lakers, The SPurs, OKC or anyon else that would be there.

    [/QUOTE]

That's exactly right...Last year, everyone (especially the trolls) were ready to crown OKC after they toyed  with the Slackers..and SA...
But the "weak" East took it...quite easily actually...OKC just shriveled up with the pressure..

They had not seen "real" defense until then....
