1. Dallas Mavericks
2. LA Lakers
The Mavs dismantled a championship team in 2011 so that they can go after Dwight and Deron in 2012. After that didn't work out, the Mavs tried again by signing free-agents to 1 year deals so that they can go after Dwight in 2013. Both times the Mavs failed to achieve their goal.
Now the Mavs will have to settle for Dalembert, Dirk, Marion, Monta, and Calderon. Obviously a team that will only make the playoffs but never end up in the Finals.
Last season, 2012, I told Laker fans that Dwight is just a 1 year rental.
No Andrew Bynum and no Dwight in 2013.
Ever since Jimmy Buss took over, the Lakers are on a downward spiral.
This season the Lakers will be featuring Kaman, Pau, Kobe, Nick Young, and Nash.
Sure they will make the playoffs, but never the Finals.
If the Celtics kept KG and Pierce for 1 more year, the Celtics would've been in the same boat with Dallas and the LA Lakers.
The point is in professional sports, being mediocre is worse than being bad.
