We get manhandled by team after a back to back and we had two nights off. It tells you this roster is in need of changes.

Doc thank you for the memories but you've lost control of this team. Sadly, you have to go.

Let me say to you, you better be right. Or this is an under .500 team. No other big man equals the end of KG.
The end of KG was back in 2010 when the Celtics lost to the Lakers in the Finals. But we kept hoping the Celts had 1 more run left in them.Only 3 players at the age of 35, or older, led their team to a championship. Those 3 are Jabbar, MJ, and Bill Russell.
Also, no team has won a championship averaging less then 40 rebounds per game.
So this current Celts team is not on track to win a championship. But if Ainge can make a deal to bring in a big man who can score inside and rebound, the Celts will be back in the hunt.

To be fair ... if this was LA or NY, Doc might be fired at this point.
Would NEVER happen in Boston.

This game is a reminder of how fortunate the Celts were when Ray Allen left. If Ray stayed then he'll be here for at least 2 more seasons. That's awful!
Right now the Celts are not very good. But at least they got younger. It's the first step in the right direction.

There comes a time in a coach's career when his players start tuning him out. Happens to most of them at some point. Maybe that's part of what we're seeing right now. Doc can yell and namecall all he wants but the player's for the most part are not buying it. When that happens, it's time for the coach to walk into the sunset. I know I've disagreed with you in the past Karl, but in spite of not having a complementary big for KG, the C's have enough good players and a good enough bench to do better in games like this (when they're rested and the other team is tired). Doc and DA are good buds, so firing is out of the question, IMO, but there is a big disconnect on this team right now and things may be going from bad to worse. Time to move the onus onto Doc? Maybe. -

Fierce, all your points about getting rebounding big man - is right. BUT, we need something else that hasn't been mentioned. We need BALLERS. We need COMPETITORS. KG & Pierce compete every night, we need more of that. That is why I want Milsap. Milsap BALLS HARD. He gets intense and can take over games. Bass is trying hard, but Milsap has that baller gene, the same as the greats. Green doesn't have it. Lets hope AB does.

No. Avery Johnson isn't playing him because he's not playing defense! -

When Doc got the right players he won a championship. The problem is not Doc or Ainge, it's the salary cap rules. Lakers, Celtics, and Mavs, those were the teams with high payrolls the previous 5 seasons and look at them now.

most of these players are new to the team so they're not tuning Doc out. Who is? KG? Pierce? I doubt it. maybe Rhondo maybe but that's it. There's more going on that needs fixing. Tune out is not one of them. -

I agree Millsap is someone who "balls hard". But we need more, we need that 3rd scorer who can rebound also. Someone who's an impact player, that's what the Celts need right now. -

Can't handle the truth?Who won the championship in 2008, 09, 10, and 11? Didn't all those teams that won a championship were either #1 or #2 when it comes to high payrolls?

I feel bad for Pierce and KG, they deserved at least 2 rings but it is what it is. Interesting times ahead. Make a trade to improve now or make deals for the future? Though Ainge hasn't shown any interest in rebuilding from scratch. Difficult decisions to make.
