Pierce 9-rebs!
Trade the Bum? LOL.
I still say it's the best move, to trade Pierce.
If we get the right pieces back, and getting Gasol back is not one of them.

one thing i WILL say, is the Celtics need to see that Rondos teammates are pretty handy passing the ball as well. He is by far the best passer in the game, and i think can still be that, but can share the ball a bit more. Its on Doc to make sure this happens when he returns next season.
Look, it is a matter of maximizing the system. If Rondo had better teammates, he should be asked not to dominate the ball. I don't mind trading Rondo for better chemistry on the roster. But I am not ready to minimize his talent as many here do.

Celts 22 rebs
Kings 14 rebs
Not that hard to figure out if you win rebounding battle you USUALLY win the game or have a big lead.
But you may have cause and effect messed up here. The Celts have hardly missed shots. The Kings have had very few defensive rebounding opportunities.

The point is the Celtics are not allowing the Kings to get their misses back. I think the Celts allowed the Heat to get 9 offensive rebounds in the 1st qtr. alone!

trust me, i agree. And the C's also RARELY make shots like they are tonight. But maybe if players touch the ball more, they get into more of a rhythmn. Idk, i really dont like to make judgements against bad teams.

It seems the Celtics because Rondo is out really present a problem defensively to the opposing team. The ball is coming off the defensive end and no pass to Rondo. It goes anywhere there is someone open. Not knocking Rondo at all, just gives the Celtics an advantage because opposing teams will have to change there defensive strategy.

Giving up only 4 total offensive rebounds, at halftime, means the Celts are doing a good job in the defensive rebounding department.

Games far from over, better come out with energy to start the 2nd half. We don't want a repeat of the Atlanta game.

Way to early to make that kind of statement. Who knows how we are going to do from here.

Rondo will be most effective when he plays with players that move wothout the ball and love to catch and shoot. For all their issues, Ray Allen was the perfect teammate for Rondo. Then he got old.
The problem with the Celts is that all of Lee, Terry and Green need to feel the ball for a short while to be able to shoot effectively. Terry has not been a good catch and shoot guy. But watch him when he takes a dribble or two and then shoots. He is much more effective.
Lest wait a couple of games and see how the teams figure out the defensive scheme against the new Celtics. Then we will know what Rondo brings / does not bring to the table.

13 for 13 in the quarter.
This has NOTHING to do with Rondo being out so let's not try to suggest there is a parallel.
We are just shooting the ball well.
And Sacto played zero D in the 2nd quarter.

To even think Rondo is anything but an asset on this team is insane. Are you kidding? He is often inconsistent but he is a game changer. The team looks great tonight and as I said they are benefiting because they are used to Rondo getting the ball everytime from the defensive end. But be real.

Its comical and expected the response from some to how well the C's have played since ROndo's been out..
I mean, its only 2 games which doesnt mean much... only some more time will tell... but they already out apologizing and ratioanlizing away all of this..
Instead, they should take off their blinders and at least acquiesce that the Celtics have looked a heck of alot better these last two games than they have in a long time...
