Re: Game Thread: Celtics vs Sixers, Game 2

KG has to set a better pick ALTHOUGH you don't expect that to be called in that situation.

Honestly we deserved to lose this game.  We made some brainless plays down the stretch but we lost this game in the 2nd and 3rd quarters.

We cannot play this way and expect to walk onto the court and beat Philly.

My main concern now is we are drained and we're right back at it Wednesday and Friday.  We'll see just what this group is made of.

This game was pathetic. Pierce layed an egg, Doc leaving him in when MP was hot, the b.s. foul on KG. Ironically we lost by one and would have won by 3, if Rondo decided to make a layup in the 1st quarter, but decided to pass for a missed score. He did this twice.  Come on Rondo, when you got an open layup, you have to take it!

It'll be OK. Other players will not have sucha bad game next time so KG will not be all alone.

celtics played like crap....they deserved to lose, but the refs didnt help the cause with two bad calls/noncalls down the stretch.....hopefully they can go to philly and at least earn a split

If Pierce is hurt then he shouldnt be playing... he is a liability and has shown nothing in the past two games....why would Doc even think about taking out MP at that point? Maybe with the hope that Pierce actually does something??? Really bad decision.

looks bad in retrospect....but pierce is the captain and if he were to hit a big shot tonight like he did on saturday, noone would have questioned the move. pierce has hit plenty of big shots for this team, doc was trying to bank on another, but it didnt happen

NOT EASY TO WIN WHEN YOU DON'T SHOOT 5-10% BETTER THAN OPPONENTS & THEY OUTREBOUND US 47-36...THAT'S 11 EXTRA CHANCES !!!

And the 4th qtr we did shoot an amazing 65% to their 44% which is why we made up the 10 pts to tie but 3-4 extra rebounds in 4th & shooting 55-60% would have been better, I think.

That was my point....that Doc was banking on a big shot but if he is hurt what is the likelihood?...And to your point of big shots in the past... I agree but you cant always count on what someone does in the past especially if he is hurt and someone else is playing really well.... all in all though, they played like crap and if this continues they will lose in 5 or 6 especially if Pierce continues to play like he is playing...

DUDE, the refs deserve to be ragged on. Call nothing the whole game and then call the KG foul with 10 seconds left? Celts played awful and probably deserved to lose anyhow but you swallow the whistle the whole game and then do that. Usually it's the opposite DUDE!

Let's not be delusional.  The referees had nothing to do with this loss.

As Barkley is saying, this game was horrible.  We did exactly what we did in Toronto - came in screwing around and not taking Philly seriously.  And we got beat thinking we could turn it on at the end.

Doc is going to have to sit Pierce if he can't get anything more from him.  And Rondo has to be more aggressive.  On too many occasions, he pounded the ball until the shot clock was about to expire only to throw up an ugly shot.  No ball movement or anything.

It's the playoffs and we're getting nothing from alot of guys.  Not much from AB or Bass.

As bad as some calls were, they did not determine the game.  The Celtics play (terrible) is what caused us this game.

I agree that if Pierce is hurt he shouldn't be playing so many minutes.  Not sure that Pietrus is better but should be playing more minutes.  Doc needs to make better substitutions when necessary.  It is obvious that this team's injuries are really bothering them.

They lost because Bass is trash. Countless easy shots to exetend leads and like every game in all 8 of them he's doesn't produce. He has no excuse. He's not injured. In the regular season he was money. Now he's a bum.

That is why you come to expect some stupid, ridiculous call sooner or later.  And the good teams don't let it come down to that.  They go out and get the win.
