It has nothing to do with defense.
Even rebounding is ok.
But if you score only 39 points a half, you won't win.
We have no plays, just random ball movement so far.
Is there a single player in this team who can dunk? -

In Response to Re: Game Thread: Game 1 vs Knicks:Hey guys, looks like we are on the verge of seeing another Celtic blowout. Doc needs to make a change. I hate to say it but he has to sit Rondo. West and Arroyo would each be more effective. This game is embarassing. Boston looks finished almost like they are begging to get their clock rung.
Posted by guyfromtexjesus what the hell is this? he is shooting 50% He is in double figures. The rest of the team needs to step up. Krystic taking and missing a bad jumper with a clear path to the basket is not Rondo's fault. Garnet missing a bunny two feet from the goal is not Rondo's fault. baby travelling is not Rondo's fault. Ray not getting a pick is not the point guard's fault. -

In Response to Re: Game Thread: Game 1 vs Knicks:Not that it matters. Even if the Cs were playing their best the refs would corruptedly manipulate a NY series win. The shady NBA is all about money and ratings. Unfortunately the Cs don't = $$. But the likes of Anthony, Stoudemire, James, Wade and Rose do. Mark it down. Is it at all surprising that Miami and Chicago were both miraculously able to come back in their games?
Posted by cpoppanom
Dude, I think the NBA refs are are corrupt as John Gotti, but saying something like that when they're clearly playing so bad just undermines your own point!
By the way, the most winning franchise in NBA history does equal money!!!! See the last 2 NBA finals with record high ratings!!!! (LA vs Boston = classic $$ series) -

Team looks terrible. Passing up open shots for no reason. Kristic had a wide open drive for a dunk and shoots a jumper. Looks like what the announcers said is true. The older teams are slowly fading and the younger teams are starting to rise. Does not look good. C's look like same old self as the last part of the season. -

Rondo is a glamorized bench player. He is has cost us games all year, and now it seems the whole league has figured out how to handle him. The idea that he was an all star is a joke.
I thought the Celtics would make it to the second round before elimination; seems its going to happen earlier. No matter. We were toast the day we traded Perkins.
And as for all you guys who thought Shaq was coming in on his white horse....I TOLD YOU SO! -

Yep, no Perkins to set screens for Ray.
Please see Westbrook with a huge grin on his face everytime he runs off a Perkins screen to get an open shot! -

Posted by guyfromtexWest, yes. Arroyo - NO!!! He stinks. This entire team is playing terrible. No real movement and the Knicks are just pushing us around. Everything is a fallaway tough shot. They are just pushing us around. We gotta get tougher and we need some easy baskets, blowing by them so they'll back off. They can push up on our jumpers if we can't drive by anyone. -

If Rondo misses the shots everyone would be all over himBullips is not dominating the game Rondo playing well on himHe been penatrating and hitting open shotsHis assist are down cause the big guys are missing and or passing up good shots for a bad pass. -

Transition points a must. Big adjustment but must push the ball off every defensive rebound. -

Hey Rondo not doing much but neither is anyone else.
Does DOc know what hes doing? The offense ... each player doesnt look like they know what to do... just running around with no plan...
Forget good/bad shooting... the team isnt running an offense,. -

I agree and knicks dont care about Rondo scoring cause if it was another PG who can really score like DRose or CP3 they would have like points with the way the knicks are playing defense on Rondo. We need a true PG who can help the Big 3 plaeseeee with some easy looks. -

BBD is now too hesitant.. when he has his 20 footer open, hes afraid to take it.. which makes things even worse.
How many open shots (of the handful we got) are we gonna pass up so we can throw the ball away? -

The issue is not Rondo. The issue is that the ENTIRE team came out tentative. They overpassed way too many times allowing the knicks to knock balls loose and get us to shoot at the end of the shot clock. One time, Ray had the ball for an open three....looked around, passed it back to Rondo who gave it to BBD. So there we were, BBD shooting jumpers instead of Ray. That's just the stars not playing aggressive. KG and Ray are the two who are most guilty. Neither is stepping up. Paul is right behind them and of course, we have NO center. We can win this if the Celtics decide they are going to get aggressive on D (no more wide open jumpers because we're afraid that they'll blow by us) and aggressive on offense (stop passing up shots). -

Good point. The entire Celtic team looks shot. Even when the Celtics were winning you could tell that they just weren't in the game. They looked lackadaisical as Bill Walker was ripping their hearts out. I hope that Boston wakes up because right now Boston looks ready to be knocked out. As for Rondo. I still believe that he needs to sit. He is a liability on offense. He is being left wide open as NY is absolutely ignoring him. -

Posted by KarllostIts not the offensive plays, its the players not moving hard and making stupid passes rather than taking the shot that the plays have created! -

Rondo has to run off the defensive rebound... Of the ones we've gotten, hes only pushed it a couple times..
In my mind, this is more a failure of Doc than anyone else. Team doesnt look prepared... if they were just missing shots .. well, whataya gonna do but they seem pointless on offense... discombobulated -

Do you really think our gameplan is drawn up to get Big Baby an open 20 footer? That's the exact shot he should avoid. The fact that he's hesitating is the smallest sign of progress in this otherwise terrible game. -
