That's what happens when Rondo tries to do too much. And some here want him to be a 20-point scorer. Ugh!

Rondo's going to end up like Iverson if he tries to do everything because KG and Pierce are not getting it done.

This may be the dumbest post of the year. Trying to be a 20 pts scorer is the cause of his injury.  That is laughable.

    Really?

Didn't you tell us all that you wanted Rondo to score 18-25 every game because you know he can do it?

Rondo runs the show, he rebounds, and you also want him to be a scorer. That's called OVERLOAD, moron!

Well what does him trying to score have to do with injuring his knee?  Absolutely nothing.  Its basketball, people shoot all the time.  Yes I said I wanted him to score about 20 game simply because he can do it.  Like I said he doesn't have to rebound like that every game.  You know what you said isn't true so don't twist it around.

    No! You're just making excuses.

    Stop acting like a weasel.

The more Rondo shoots the more times he gets hit by defenders. Get it?

Pay attention. If Rondo does everything, sooner or later he's going to get hurt. Again, it's called OVERLOAD!

    Still don't get it?

I'll give you a clear picture - Rondo the rebounder, assist leader, and scorer?

    TOO MUCH WORKLOAD!

And you are the one making excuses,  he was injured because he was trying to score more.

I told you it was bad idea to make Rondo become a scorer. Now look at what happened. He got injured right?

Didn't I say trying to make Rondo something he is not is not a good idea?

Yeah, Rondo got hurt trying to score more. But that's what you wanted, that Rondo should score more, right?

WOW.. ur really grasping for straws now... give it a rest..try for once not to have the last word.. esp when your argument seems so silly

Give it a rest? It was OneOnOne and me arguing and you joined the argument. Who's not minding his own business?

OneOnOne wants Rondo to be the assist leader, rebounder, and scorer. All I'm saying is that's too much workload. Is that not true?

Use your common sense, if Rondo does everything chances are he'll only get hurt. Get it?

All the truely great players do everything.  Lebron, Durant, Kobe, Paul...  I don't think there is a direct correlation to an increase of chance of injury

    Wrong!

Only Lebron is the closest to Rondo when it comes to triple-doubles.

Durant and Kobe just focus on scoring.

Just use your common sense. A 6-1 guard who's only 186 pounds will score, rebound, and be the assist leader. You really think that body will not break down?

    Lebron is 6-8 270 pounds!

Is it a reasonable assumption? I guess.  But, so is number of minutes played defensive assignments, etc.   and again, I don't think there is any DIRECT correlation.

There is a direct correlation because if Rondo is to become a scorer, he has to drive to the basket more often. Rondo is not a shooter, he's going to get his points from driving to the basket. That means he'll come crashing down on the floor more often because the opposing team knows he's also not a good FT shooter.

I agree he can't shoot and gets his points on layups...but I think he was driving to the hoop as much as he possibly could all year... ?

So if you don't want him driving to the hoop because he'll get injured, and he doesn't have an outside shot, and can't shoot fre throws, and he has one of the highest turnover rates, and he can't play D, and he makes dumb decisions, especially at crunch time...just why does everyone insist that he is such a super-star?  I didn't even mention his TEAM related deficiencies about ball movement and leadership, or lack thereof.

If you think Rondo is going to get his points from jump shots then you're just plain dumb!

Rondo drives to the basket, that's where he gets his points. The more he drives the more he falls down because teams would want to send him to the FT line where he doesn't shoot at a high percentage.

You really think Rondo's going to score more by shooting jump shots?

    HAHAHA

You are dumb one here.  No one said it had to just be jumpers.  I was willing to let you get the last word but you had to get two more in. Have you every played ball before?  Listen to what you said,  "you really think Rondo is going to score more by shooting jump shots?"  Well yea.  Most people do score more when they shoot more.  Now how smart was that statement?  Do you really think he won't score more shooting more jump shots?  All that has been posted around here is how his jumper has improved.  I agree with that.  You don't?

Are you serious.  Crucify a dude for a couple three second clips.  He was there for his teammates when most would already be home.  If you don't think he was rooting for he teammates you just have to much hate in you.

Speaking of love, you Jamez and the other immature Sox handles who contribute NOTHING of value here, should get a room and bring some lube with a giant picture of Rondo.  None of you understand the game of basketball beyond stats.

Again another gay reference... you really have some closet issues to deal with I think... lol... and in terms of my knowledge of the game, I am absolutely sure that I played at a much higher level than you did if you ever did and I am also sure I understand the game a heck of a lot more than you did.... so did you play for the JV squad in HS or did you even get to that level??

All I said was it's a bad idea to make Rondo the assist leader, rebounder, and scorer. OneOnOne said that's the dumbest post ever.

Now, you really think Rondo can lead the team in assists, get some rebounds, and score 20 a night and not get hurt?

All I'm saying is that's too much for Rondo to handle.

I agree with that. I just don't think anyone is saying that he needs to be the assist leader, great rebounder and scorer.

At least I'm not. I couldn't care less about the assists. Somebody will score. Even the worst NBA teams get 80-90 ppg.

I don't expect him to be the best rebounder on the team (he gets plenty already). But with the lack of scoring on our current team I'd want him to score more; he has to make that his priority and stop looking for the assists. His shooting has already improved some, so...

Could he average 20 ppg? I think so.

That's exactly what I'm trying to tell everybody!

Just because the Celtics don't have a scorer anymore it doesn't Rondo can do it. He's not a shooter we all know that. So teams will just hit him every time he drives to the basket because they know he's also not a good FT shooter.

You can't expect Rondo to become like Ray Allen. Rondo will gets his points from drives to the basket.

I completely agree that Rondo is not and should not be counted on as a scorer.

Unfortuneately because he can't shoot from the outside, the WHOLE defense collapses which limits passing lanes, movement, and points in the paint.  Completely disrupts ball movement and flow.   Your PG NEEDS to be able to hit a jump shot with reasonable regularity to pull the defense out.  Thats why Rondo is left with the critical shot at the buzzer, that he always misses, because the D is covering everyone else and blocking the middle.

He's jumper has improved, true. But how many jumpers does he take every game?

It's also true that he prefers driving to the basket instead of shooting jumpers, right?

So don't call me dumb because you're the one who's dumb!

You once told me Rondo is in his 7th season and expecting him to be more than what he is now is not being realistic. Now you're saying Rondo can be a scorer because you think he can become one. That's just dumb!

Fierce do you have to argue with someone 24/7?   Does it maybe hit home that everyone is not wrong all the time?  Maybe just maybe they are not the problem?

Get this through your head, if Rondo is to score more, he's going to drive to the basket, not shoot jump shots!
