And I'm not saying they don't need another big.  Just that I think Jared's role is being too limited.

Sully got the ball in the low post, went 1 on 1 with Anthony Davis and Davis blocked Sully's shot.

You can give Sully the ball inside when he's being guarded by a smaller defender. But he always had problems against the taller bigs, even in college.

Tonight was instructive to all the pumpers here who want to believe we are ready to win a championship.  If we kill the Bulls on Friday we still need help up front.  It is not going away. It is a glaring weakness, this team is going to burn out Garnett by the All Star break.

The idea that Sullinger, Wilcox and Collins provide enough help upfront is insane.

I don't think anybody, other than Kirk, disagrees with you.

It's also crazy to say that the Celtics can be like the Patriots. NFL players only play one side of the ball, either defense or offense. The reason why Barbosa is not getting playing time is because he's bad on defense. Sure he can score, but what's the point if he's just going to give up 2 points on the other end?

A perfect example of the Celts' problem inside the paint is when the Hornets were just leading by 5 points with 7:47 left in the 4th. KG and Rob Lopez were going for a rebound after the Hornets missed. The outcome was Lopez beating KG to ball, in front of the rim, and Lopez just put the ball back in the basket as if KG wasn't there.

I think there are others but Kirk is the one. The six game streak had others talking about how we were going to challenge for a championship this year now that Bradley was back.

Fierce another thing that jumped out at me tonight that the old Jeff Green came back tonight.  This guy needs to step against young athletic teams and get to the free throw line.

The Celtics beat the Bobcats on the boards because the Bobcats had no starter over 6-9. Biyombo was the tallest starter at 6-9. In other words the Bobcats were a smaller team than the Celtics.

It's not that hard to figure out that in basketall height is might.

Brandon Bass who stands 6-7 and a quarter is not starter material. When Bass gets the ball in the paint he can't get his shot off over taller bigs. He's also not a low post player. Bass has never been a low post player. The Celts need an upgrade at that position.

The problem with Green's game is he has no in-between game. It's either a drive to the basket or a shot from the outside. He has no pull up jumper ala Paul Pierce or Rudy Gay.

If the Celtics can get Gay or Josh for Green and Bass then the Celts should do it.

Right now the Celts have too many pieces that are average or above average. They need to trade Bass and Green or Lee for a big time player. Pierce and KG just can't do it on a regular basis anymore.

In the last few games we have seen how the Celts can play.  If the Celts showed that they were ready and still got beat, I will be very concerned.  They were just not ready and played like crap.  Sullinger has been reading his press.  The bench has been reading its press.  Doc didn't have the team prepared.  It was just one of those days.

Lets move on. Danny will see what the next few games bring.  The trade deadline is next month.

Celtics never averaged more than 38.8 rpg since 2010. Rebounding has been a problem for 4 straight seasons now. You can't win if you keep giving your opponent 2nd chance points. That's baskteball 101.

Doc kept Terry in the game to make Austin look good.

    It worked.

When it was a 6-game winning streak, "I like the team as is."

Now that the streak is over, it's Doc putting Terry on Austin to make him look good to Doc not reverting back to the zone.

    Ugh!

Problems solved w/ the acquistions of Messrs. Milsap, Kanter and Foye. It will involve of course our resident messiah, but this unholy triad should be able to solve all of current woes. Numbers 18,19 & 20 should fall into place w/out further ado. END OF DISCUSSION.

Actually the last time Ray played against the Hornets, as a Celtic, the Celtics lost by 19 points.

The Celts just lost by 12 to the Hornets last night without Ray. So from losing by 19 points with Ray to losing by 12 points without Ray, it's an improvement, don't ya think?

Its simple. Our issues and problems are masked if we shoot the ball well. If the shots don't fall we are toast. 1D....
