And you will be 4 games under .500 after Miami and still be a playoff seed. Just goes to show how incredibly weak the East is. The Cs would be a 10th or 11th in the West. If they make the playoffs they will be the worst, most unqualified team to do so. Ever!

the avanger obviously is not aware of the fact that the 1958-59 Lakers made it to the NBA Finals with a record of 33-39....no kidding, just look it up...they came out of the Western Conference that year...another example of the historically weaker Western Conference that the Lakers have dominated over the years....and to start the dominance of the Celtics in this epic battle, the Lakers were swept in four games...but just making it to the Finals (with a losing record) helps to establish the Lakers greatness over the years...at least in some of their fans' minds....

the kid just doesn't get it...the modern NBA era began with the advent of the shot clock in the mid '50's...

the league before 1976 was "amateurish"...?  ....tell that to Baylor and West, Russell & Co, Wilt, Oscar, Thurmond, Jabbar, Hayes, Reed, Unseld, Tiny, Monroe, Frazier.....and on and on goes the list of all time greats that came in prior to the merger....the merger added a few teams from the ABA and was part of the beginning of actually watering down the league as it continued to expand....today there are probably 5-6 teams that should be absorbed....no wonder kids out of high school or with one year of college can come in and start playing right away....give me a break...

It ain't modern if ya wear nutters. Period. You telling me nutters are modern?
