    HUH??

ESPN now running a lead article on the site comparing historical Big Three's, and no Celtics in the picture. What gives? Nothing from the Russell or the Bird years? Even our current Big Three have won one more championship than LeBron & Co.

I saw that too. Supposedly some analysis from an institute.

    Total nonsense.

That is ESPN doing their normal pumping up of the Heat and forgetting history. They seem to always like to dis the C's and then act surprised when the C's start kicking butt.

Agree with you.  It is very surprising that no Celtics players would be mentioned in this discussion.

    Re: HUH??

Hollinger, the author, uses his subjectively determined statistics to rank the best Champions ex-post facto (after the fact), which only serves to attempt to validate his statistics, but it does not. They are still subjective and that's all that matters. One guys opinion, gussied up with his statistics. If Hollinger's statistics were useful they would predict Championships ex ante (i.e, before the event happens). Hollinger using his own stats to try to tell which Championship teams have better this or that (Big 3, etc.) is self serving. First, his stats need to be shown to be valid at predicting Championships before they can be taken seriously for using in sorting out best Championship this or thats.

    Hi,
    What a pile of crap.
    1. How in the world you can quantify talent
    2. There're only 2 "Big 3" and both happened in Boston.
    3. The trio in Mia is (a) actually 2.5 and (b) didn't win anything
