I'd like to come out of this draft with...

Gorgui Dieng, Allen Crabbe, Tim Hardaway jr, and Seth Curry.

    Too much?

Can we trade some guys to Atlanta so we'll have picks #16-#18?

    Courtney Lee? Terrance Williams? JET?

I'm partial to players that can shoot. That's why I was not a big fan of bowlegged Doc Rivers the brick layer. Ha ha ha. Or Mark Jackson or Greg Anthony or Stockton! Stockton could shoot, he just never seemed to. Rod Strickland couldn't shoot either.

Shooting isn't everything, but it's very big to me.

    Da,

Will you trade AB for pick #17?  If not, then you have your answer.  Would I trade AB for Tim Hardaway or Crabbe - interesting question...

If Ainge can find a team with cap space that will trade an early 2nd this year and a future 2nd, I'd certianly part with Courtney Lee - but not sure that is realistic either.  What would you give up if your the other team to GET Lee or Jet (I am assuming no one will be trading for Williams in the near future)?

Think Ainge should take the best player available at #16 if the pick isn't packaged with something else or he doesn't attempt to trade down, ala Belichik...

This is a bad draft year.  Next year should be deeper.  Don't waste your assets on average players.

I would trade Avery to get Dieng or Crabbe. I like Avery but he is a defensive specialist who is best against point guards but we can't go deep in playoffs with Avery as our back-up point or full time 2 IMO.

Avery gets nullified by teams going away from whoever he is guarding, like a quarterback doesn't throw at a great defensive back.

We can't go into next year with duplicate 2 guards. Lee and Avery are extremely similar skill set.

Dieng is Desagana Diop 2.0.  Every player from Senegal has been a bust in the NBA so far.  Good defense but low basketball IQ.  The spot light of the final 4 made him a potential 1st round pick, but he is a 2nd round pick at best

Someone mentioned moving up to take #4 or #9..........I would do that, and take Alex Len of Maryland............serious skills for a 7 footer!

    Da,

If AB is taking out the primary back-court scoring option or the ability for an opposing team to get into their sets quickly - that is NOT being nullified... that is being incredibly impactful.  It is like saying Dorelle Revieis or Deion Sanders aren't/weren't that important because the QB simply threw the other way.  They single handedly changed the offensive game plan.

Still - it would be an interesting choice if DA was offered the #17 pick for AB and the chance to trade defense for offense in Crabbe or another offensive-minded 2G as you suggest.

Exactly BD/DJ....if you have a weak defensive guard, then you go at him all night until the coach has to make a decision...that's what its about....If you make a player use his left hand, you made him make an adjustment...AB has tremendous impact on the game and it would be foolish to trade him, because he is not a consistant scorer yet..he is still very young and i believe this expereience will make him better..He needs more seasoning..don't think Danny wants to trade another Tony Allen.....but if the right offer comes around...

I agree with all of you.  If it is possible to move up in the draft and get someone who can help us this season and probably play significant minutes it is  definitely a good idea.

Your bball memories begin around the Lakers 3 peat Da, so I'm not sure why you always reference these players from the late 80's and 90's we all know you didn't see play live.

I've watched Crabbe play.  He refuses to play defense and gives up as many points as he scores.  Coach Montgomery publically called his star player out for being lazy on defense.  Crabbe's stock will fall in the draft to mid-second round. and I Pass even then.  Curry is no where near his brother.  He is not nearly NBA ready.  Hardaway is a late second round talent.  All of these giuys would be D league gunners. Bad idea.

Many other better SGs available in this draft and I would pick at least 8 other SGs in front of the three above.

hmmmm.......Lee has some trade value, IMO..he's younger.

Terry not so much....I doubt anyone wants a small OLD shoting guard , who's FG% had been dropping each recent year and has $10M on his deal left...OUCH!!!

Williams?...he'll be lucky to NOT be in jail come season opener...he has ZERO trade value.

Maybe we can get a later first round pick for Lee....that'll get us two out of your four!!

Jet was great in the playoffs. I would try and hold on to him anyway. He's a Derek Fisher type. CLUTCH!!!

This draft is full of good role players. No superstars.

I'll take my rookie shooters over T-Will and C.Lee.
