    Importance of the Draft

    Fun Fact:

Only one team in the last 30 years has won an NBA championship without having at least one player drafted within the first three picks on their roster. That distinction goes to the 2007-2008 Boston Celtics, whose highest drafted players, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen, were selected fifth in their respective drafts.

For those keeping track ... if we lose KG & PP next year, the highest picked player on our team right now would be:

    Jeff Green (5th)

    Jason Terry (10th)

    Terrence Williams (11th)

    Rookie (16th)

    Avery Bradley (19th)

    Rajon Rondo (21st)

    Jared Sullinger (21st)

    Fab Melo (22nd)

    Courtney Lee (22nd)

    Jordan Crawford (27th)

    Brandon Bass (33rd)

After seeing Kidd play in the playoffs against the Celts, no way!

    Re: Importance of the Draft

Another possibility is to move up in the draft.  That would mean trading at least one or several current Celtics players for a higher pick.  It isn't something that would be easy to do but it is definitely a possibility.

All we need for hope is a Pacers v. Grizz NBA final so that the mold can once again be broken, and hope restored for Celtics fans!

    (Conley was 4th)

    (George was 10th)
