I'm hearing more and more reports about the Celtics overvaluing their players as they discuss possible trade scenarios. If that's what other GMs believe, can we get a deal done? Or are the other GMs simply posturing?
If it's true that Green is now unavailable, the only possible trade pieces are Bass, AB and Humphries. And I'm not so sure AB is available.
Both Bass and Humphries are capable, solid veteran backup PFs who can help a contender's bench. But does that translate to getting something back that can help this team long-term?
We won't get any 1st round picks for either Bass or Hump NOR will we receive much value back so what are the chances we don't make a move by the trade deadline?
You make trades to dump salary, acquire an expiring contract, acquire draft picks or acquire a young, talented player (preferably cheaper) who will fit long-term.
Other than GS utilizing its trade exception, which would be great, are there any real deals that will improve the Celtics long-term in any of the above areas?
