The Spurs and the Heat don't go for offensive rebounds either. Thery are better than we are nevertheless.

    "So what?"

So the point is that you can't reduce the Celts problems to one key stat. You can be a great team in the NBA without being a great rebounding team.

That said the Celts didn't look like they wanted it as bad as the Grizz, but the Grizz are also one of the biggest teams in the NBA. You can't teach big.

    So what?

That means: If Danny would fire Doc and hire Pop, the best coach in the game, you would call Pop an idiot as well.

Danny firing Doc is where to start to turn this franchise around.

    Yeah.

Then he needs better players.  And a new trainer. and some new fans.

To sum it up Kirk, according to your opinion:

When Doc does tell the players to pull back and not to go for the offensive glass he is an idiot.

While Pop doing exactly the same is fine for you, cause he is the best coach in the game?

Sounds a little confusing to me! Can you explain that a little more?

Kirk doesn't explain things. He just makes proclamations that he knows to be 100 percent true.

Re: Isn't it fun to watch a team that actually goes for offensive rebounds?

It's "Quid pro Quo"...get something, give up something ! Heat don't need to concentrate on Off Rebs as they have more players who can shoot from the outside or drive to the basket & score or get fouled & score.  Doc prefers to have at least 4 of our men go back immediately on "D". If he kept 3 under the basket & we missed the off reb, the opponents would score much more easily on fast breaks with little defense. And not having a big man banger, it's likely that even with 3 men we might not get the rebound. So, I can't blame Doc for this tactic because getting out rebounded, we have won some games playing good "D".

Lakers, as opposed to the Heat, other than Kobe, don't have a LeBron or Wade to drive to the basket but with two 7 footers need more rebs for more 2nd chances for their mediocre shooters. That's why they won in 2010...outrebounded us although we shot a better %. Of course, the egregious 41 to 18 foul shots helped too. I'm still pissed about that game.
