James Young May Miss Celtics Summer League Action with Strained Neck
WALTHAM --- Boston Celtics draft pick James Young suffered a strained neck in a car accident in the weeks prior to the 2014 NBA Draft. The injury forced him to miss workouts for teams around the league prior to the draft and may have helped the swingman drop to the Celtics at no. 17 on draft night.
Lingering effects from the neck injury kept Young sidelined as the rest of the Celtics summer league team gathered in Waltham today for their first official practice.
“James didn’t go through workouts this morning because we’re still just being precautionary after his car accident a couple weeks ago,” summer league coach Jay Larranaga said.
