Come on! These players are sidekicks. They will help teams like Miami or maybe the thunder but not a team heading towards a rebuilt.

Not having a dead-eye shooter also hurt our winning percentage.

Two guys that I think that DAinge should make a play for are: Rodrigue Beaubois and Nikola Pekovic. Ainge also has to stop blowing it in the draft. That kid from Greece (Giannis Adetokoubo) could end up being a superstar. Gorgui Dieng could be a great addition also.

Tim Hardaway, Jr. would be a great addition as well

Leandro Barbosa was missed, when healthy he was the best bench scorer the Celtics have had in at least 6 years

barea is about 5-7 and gets easily bullied on defense.  he's a streak shooter / penetrator tempo havoc guy.  there is a REASON why he has only ever played 20 mins a game even in his best seasons.  look at his stats.  his best seasons may be behind him.....

steamer would have been nice to keep.  he and kg had a little something.  he's really just another shavlik- a flunkout at an advanced age only getting traction in the league due to the horrid quality of the #5 position today.  on a good team, steamer is third string.

we'll have to do better than a midget or shavlik/steamer to contend.  one is a huge post up liability and the other are 12th men

but you guys are looking beyond danny and doc managing to mis-use him for most of barbosa's time here.  and because that was a possibility and a danger to rondo's ego (people might think: "hey why doesn't rajon do that at all any more?!"), barbosa did not play hardly at all until after rondo rumpled to the floor.  what a waste

rondo decided he was no longer going to run at all this year so as to avoid any body contact / free throws.  so it was up to barbosa to run all by himself.  think about rondo, with his sneakers turned on, running with lee, green, barbosa and perhaps sometimes terry- we should have been able to, rebounding woes and all, to STILL RUN this year.

barbosa only got to be an impact player once idiot rondo was gone.  then we saw what we had been missing with barbosa and jeff green.  and to think, some people still come on this board and look forward to rondo coming back next year.  if you want that you better get the biggest slow-down post up brawlers at the 2, 3, 4 and 5 positions with old slow-it-down rondo at the point.  there won't be a bit of running going on and no excitement.  lots of 84-79 games

Re: JJ Barea and Stiemsma will fill two of our biggest needs

Biggest needs with these two?  A ballboy and someone to dust the tops of the lockers?  The center and point are a given, but there are much better players than those metioned.  Minnesota gave us KG and and side from Love, let's stop there.  Bleacher Report, for what it's worth, gives Steamer a C and Berea a B- for the Wolves!  Their best player goes down and the team folds; Boston loses their all-star point and potentially its best rebounder and bench scorer - playoffs.
