Some say he's a chucker. What you guys think?I still believe the Celts are one big man away from being an elite team. -

The center thing needs to be addressed.... JO needs to say he is going for surgery or call it quits -

How do you make the salaries match? That is the key to evaluate the proposal. -

Up and down season has us going up now.
Don't know if DA is convinced yet, but if this trend continues short term (another week), I am convinced he will find someway to get the big man we so desperately need to have a decent shot at a banner.
No big man, no deep run. -

I'd rather have more of a post player and a player that is known as a rebounder. Kaman is decent in the paint, but also takes a lot of outside shots, and we already have one big in KG who shoots jumpers. But to only give up a 1st for him, yeah, he's worth that. -

NO would have to waive $6M in salary to get below the cap to be able to get something for Kaman w/o matching salaries ... that's why most are waiting for them to waive Kaman. -

No way we give up a first. Not another jump shooter. I say roll with what we have. -

You can't get under the cap by waving a player.
Kaman is not going to agree to lose millions of dollars so he can be picked up by another team.

Posted by Mployee8They have to buy him out and no I would not give up a 1st round pick for a big that is shooting 40% and he would likely wind up on the Heat anyway. -

Waiting for Kaman to get bought out is a mistake. Once Kaman becomes a free-agent, he could go to the Hawks, Heat, or Sixers. All those teams are potential 1st round opponents of the Celts.Ainge needs to get creative. -

forget about this year. no more band-aids. we need to plan for next year and beyond. if kaman fits into that plan, then fine. but no more band-aids to try and fix this year. too many obstacles. -

Bringing Chris Kaman aboard this year is part of the future, especially if you can get him for a bunch of undesirabe expiring contracts and a draft pick that will likely be somewhere in the 20s. Remember that extending a player on your own roster doesn't count against the cap. If ownership doesn't care about paying luxury taxes, the Celtics could re-sign all three of Kaman, Garnett and Allen, and still have enough money to bring in two max players. But if Kaman is not already in Boston, then the Celtics would have to use some of that free agent money on him, plus deal with other teams placing bids. Realistically, Kaman is the best the Celtics can hope for at center. Gasol won't be coming to the Celtics and Howard likely won't be either. Get him now and he helps this year, while simultaneously keeping money open for free agency. -

Posted by kaktugEven if we lose Kaman to free-agency next year, we have a lot of money to offer Hibbert, Brook Lopez, and even McGee. All three are restricted FAs. -

Nobody is trading for Chis Kaman. They are all waiting for a buyout and he's not the piece that would put the Celtics over the top so frankly I don't really care. -

The Celtics could theoretically have Kaman and one of those guys on the same team, plus retain Garnett in a reduced role. The advantage of being able to sign your own player to more money than anyone else, and not have it count against the cap, clearly makes a Kaman acquisition worth a low 20s first round pick and undesirable expiring contracts. -

Kaman is not worth 1st rounder and your on something if you think Ainge thinks Kaman is a piece he want's on his team for years to come. That's the whole point of not giving them a first rounder because he would be a rental.
