Kevin Love is not our answer

He is just a glorified Tom Gugliotta. Chritian Laettner. He is no Larry Bird.

Good. He's not worth that. Liabilty on defense. Can't stop penetration AND get back to his man. Can't  dominate the biggest power forward matchups. Can't defend the rim. IMO

He can shoot the 3. Whoopie!!

He's a great rebounder. Defense wins championships though. He's no K.G. or Duncan. Equally good on both ends.

Love is the answer its impossible to argue against his numbers, this thread makes no sense. The only reason he's not the answer is because it will never happen.

    Yup

I mean in addition to getting 13-15 boards those last 2 years look at all those 25-36 point games... remember 2008? KG used to have those.

    Agreed.

I guess trading for a 24 yr old guy thats a rebounding machiene and can score 20+ at will isnt the answer...Makes no sense at all.

I take Love in a heartbeat. He's no Bird, (who is?), but much better than the other two mentioned.

We need offense and rebounds with youth..  He provides both and is young.

Just depends what we would have to give up for him.  I trade Rondo straight up or Rondo and another piece.

He and Garnett would be awesome underneath.

Re: Kevin Love is not our answer

if we could somehow acquire love AND keep rondo and green, we'd be onto something. but it'll be hard to get him without giving up either of our best two young players. rondo, a 2 who can aqctually shoot, green, love and a center who can defend the rim and average maybe 10/8 would be a winning lineup. i'd gladly give up any combination of lee, terry, sully, bass, PP, melo, williams, crawford, randolph and even KG or bradly to get that done.

all that said, it isn't likley to happen.

Would you rather have Bosh or Love?

In a well-built big 3, Love can be the answer.  You just need a shot-blocking, defensive minded center next to him.

Amen. Love is averaging 17 and 12 for his career. I'd love to have him in the green and white. I don't know if he'd be THE answer, but there's no question he'd make the C's a far better team.

Of course he's no Larry Bird. For one thing, they play different positions.

hes no larry bird? WHO IS??

seriously, if your standards for players are how well they stack up next to Larry Bird, then ull be searching 20 years before you find someone acceptable for you. geez.

Love would be a perfect fit for what we need, but we would have to give up Rondo or Green (or both) to get him. Doesnt make us any better.

Fellas - don't you all know...........as soon as DH leaves, he's going to the LAKERS.........straight up for Pau Gasol.

These are the reasons of lakers "fans" from the LA Times:

    1.  He's from LA

    2.  He hates playing in MN

    3.  Mitch always gets the guy he wants

    4.  Gasol could play with Rubio

    5.  His uncle is a Beach Boy

4 reasons which make me loathe living out here.  Their "knowledge " of the game is frightening, and I don't mean that in a good way.

They also think that because of the new TV deal, they can just "sign" Chris Paul.........

For the record, I would Love Love in BOS.  We need to show Love some Love.  He will bounce back this year, and MN will probably make the playoffs.  I can't see him going anywhere!

Love can opt out of his contract and become a free-agent next year or the following year.  If he tells MIN he is unhappy, they will trade him to avoid losing him for nothing.

If Minesota loses Pekovic this summer or if they overpay for him, Love will be tempted to form a "Big 3" somewhere else.

Re: Kevin Love is not our answer

If the lakers want him they will get him unfortunately.  They are not afraid to pay to put together a contender, unlike the celts brass.

    Last year: Lakers player payroll=$101mil

                    Celtics player payroll=$78mil

Obviously it doesn't always translate (eat it LA), but which team is more dedicated to winning?
