KG: ZERO TRIPS TO THE FREE THROW LINE IN 2 GAMES, DOMINATED THE PAINT LAST NIGHT!

that's it. no other stat really gets to the bottom line than this one. how can a garnett being guarded with a softie like bosh not at least get to the foul line once. not blaming the refs on this. everything from kg is falling away or a straight jump shot. enough is enough, he has to attack. hopefully doc will make him play center and force him down low.

The whole entire season has been like this!  Short on rebounds cause we get back on defense after one shot at the hoop....and no going to the line cause no goes to the rim...our old legs can't get up so we settle for picks and open outside shots...they have to mix it up and I'm afraid that comes down to Doc's plan of attack!

No time to panic.  Trying to make KG play center puts him out of character and is a panic move.  That's what Miami would want......to get us to do something dumb and out of character.

What we need to do and we will do is simply execute better.  Celts will win tonight, win game 4, make Miami tighten up....and win the series!

Re: KG: ZERO TRIPS TO THE FREE THROW LINE IN 2 GAMES!

KG just has to be better as does the enitre team. Not enough energy. Celtics basketball lives off energy and emotion. They need to bring that in a few hours. They need hustle and they need to put Posh Spice, Lebron or Wade on their backside once. It will make them think twice about coming into the paint.

I said early in the week that KG was not a threat from where he has been playing. He is making it easy for the Heat to defend. He needs to get in the paint area and he needs to stop settling for jumpers everytime. He is too far out. He can be effective in near the paint receiving the ball: he has options: the pass out to open Allen or Pierce, he can dump in lower to JO, he can take his guy one on one. And he is more likely to get fouled in around the paint then he will up around the arc. I believe the Cs can get back in this series because they are a good team albeit older, they still can bring it. And honestly, I don't think the Heat are that great yet. Very beatable. Just take care of home court and good things will happen. Go Cs

KG has never gotten to the line on a regular basis. While some stars get star calls when they shoot, KG has never gotten those calls. He tries to score, and does not the worry about the free throw line. Asking KG to change his game this late in his career is like asking Pierce to be defensive first team all NBA. It ain't gonna happen.

Winning games sometimes takes making adjustments. What the Cs did the first 2 games did not work. So, they all need to make adjustments in this 3rd game. I don't think the poster is asking KG to become Kareem. He just needs to mix it up. He is becoming too predictable. He is making it easy for the Heat to defend. The Cs play hard and win tonight. Time to punch the Heat in the grill.

EXACTLY.  KG is KG folks....stop trying to change him.

Said again...no time to panic and try to change our nature.  We need to execute better, stop throwing the ball away, play better D, and hit our shots.   We especially need to take our shots when they are open and not hesitate.  West and KG are guilty of that.

Then, BBD needs to provide the hustle and energy, not a lot of shots.  This energy from BBD (and everyone else) is key to Celtics basketball.

Our Captain - needs to go to the hole HARD (as Doc says - with force).

The only adjustment the Cs have  to make to win  is to start making the shots they usually make.   They shot 42.7% and  43%  in the two games in Miami.   Their season average    48%    Yes defence steps up in the playoffs but ....  not that much..   Cs have to make shots....   If they do tonight ...they win.

KG, Allen and PP all have to score, and score more then they did in game 2 where they combined for 36. LeBron had 35...

If the big three are hitting shots and Rondo gets into a groove, we take the next two games.

Well, this is what I have been preaching celtsfan and other. KG needed to get in closer to the post to be more effective.  KG worked the paint tonight. He was a force. And he rebounded. Where are all those like Karllost who were throwing my under the bus saying KG is fine just taking jumers. I have been preaching the post for days for KG to mix it up in and around the post, saying he could take his man off the dribble, and guess what,  KG DELIVERED. Awesome win. Well played by Pierce. He ate up Lebronny. Still ticked at how dirty Wade has become, and he needs to be fouled hard to let it be known, the Cs are going to stand for his cr_p.

kg got the job done. shaq makes it easier. he commands respect, they must put a body right on him to avoid offensive rebounds. plus jeff green was the key for defense on bron and putting hands in others' faces!
