Kobe may be done...out 6 weeks!!

Kobe out 6 weeks with a fractured knee.

I think those Gasol trade rumors may be on again.

I'm sure Nash is thinking...exit stage right as well.

Do they have a pick this year?  Or does it belong to PHO?

Would you do a Bass and Lee for Gasol. Yup, I know he's old but has been unhappy in tinsletown & in an new environment might be rejuevenated and give us 15-20 pts and 15 rebs for 2 years.

Lee and Bass would not be enough to get Gasol even though he is older.  It just does not match up money-wise.  The Cs would have to add in another 6 or 7 M.

I don't think even adding Bogins would make it work.

Would be more than six weeks. Depends on the break but you have to stay off the leg for at least 6 weeks or there abouts. Which means no pressure on the leg.

The legs muscles will then suffer from artrophy. Will take a further few weeks to build the leg back up to the level where he can play. There shouldn't be any rush in getting back because if the muscle is not right it can lead to muscle injury. Recovery time can take almost as long as a broken leg.

He really should not be back for 8 to 10 weeks at least. Just speaking from experience. Also, we don't know if the leg is being put in plaster or there are going to be screws to immobolise the bone. The screws/plates would need to come out again which require another surgery.

L.A. has their own first round pick in 2014. No second round.  They have no picks in 2015 (Suns for Nash).

I fully expect the Lakers to not only miss the playoffs, but finish in the botom 8 teams this year.  With Gasol playing with no fire, literally ALL their guards out injured and Kobe's injury that will prevent his play for 30+ games, they will likely close it down and go into full blown tank mode.

If anybody believes that the lottery is fixed, we will know this year because Stern/Silver needs L.A. to become viable again and right now they are in deep doo doo.  My prediction is that L.A. gets a top 3 pick.

Yeah Eld, unfortunately, I can see that happening, and that would indicate the league is only one step ahead of the WWF, just a little less obvious. A little.

Agree that he really ought to consider retirement.

Will his ego allow this? That's the question. Really ought to listen to his body. Not his mind.

As with a lottery pick? Said it before. The lottery is tricky. Yeah, we could land a top 3 pick. But there is nothing to say the pick won't be a bust. Or a guy taken at 5 or 10 will be the best player in the draft.
