The issues LA has is why they will try to trade for Deron Williams.
They need to keep Gasol so they can trade Bynum.
They then could make a trade for a PF/C for an existing player and their trade exception.

With Bynum occupying the entire shaded lane Gasol is redundant. If you have not seen Laker games then you don't that Gasol is playing on the perimeter this season. And Gasol is having a career low in shot attempts.  It's just not working out in LA. Proof of this is their 10-8 record. Two very good 7-footers and Kobe and the Lakers are not even a playoff team right now.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Laker pre-game show talking about Pierce for Gasol : Not seeing the big picture again. Trade Gasol now, then trade Bynum for Deron on draft night. That way Deron is still under contract. The Lakers then give Deron a new contract. But before that they sign DH first. That way the Lakers can go over the cap to sign Deron because they own his Bird rights. Get it? You don't want to replace Bynum and Gasol with Deron and DH?

This can't happen. Your math is $20m off.
Deron would have to opt in by 6/30.
Dwight can't be a free agent until 7/1.
LA would be millions over the cap by 7/1.

Re: Laker pre-game show talking about Pierce for Gasol

    Read this slowly Fierce.
Deron could be traded to LA on draft night. (6/28).
He would have to opt in by 6/30 or he is a free agent.
LA is not going to trade for him on 6/28 and let him walk away on 7/1.
So, when he opts in by 6/30, LA would be over the cap which means they can't sign Dwight.

If Deron did not opt in, LA would have to renounce his rights in order to sign Dwight because Deron's Cap Hold Salary for next year is $18,668,431.

LA can't sign Howard until 7/1.
If Deron opted out LA would have to renounce him in order to sign Howard because Deron's Cap Hold is $18+m.

You make a joke out of yourself by each post you make.
