Good for him. He has a great basketball mind. Winning a MVP, Coach of the Year and Executive of the Year speaks volumes.

Just to show you how genius he is take a look at the 2010 draft for the Pacers and compare it to other picks in the same draft. It's startling!

I was hoping he would return to the Celtics in some capacity some day........guess that time has ended.

Re: Larry Bird President Of Basketball Operations

So....LB is back working again. Great. Apparently he feels good enough healthwise to take on another challenge with the Pacers.

So..... how does that stop him from taking over basketball operations in Beantown?

Cause he's working somewhere else???? No big deal.

If we want him here, we'll have  to make him an offer.

    A signed  contract stops nothing.

I recall us losing a coach recently who was under contract.

    No problemo.

LB can't say no to the Celtics because he doesn't feel good enough to work. It'll have to be some other reason.

    Not enough money.

    Doesn't like the weather.

Too big a challenge. Too little a challenge.

Too much freedom. Too little freedom.

Doesn't like the cheerleaders.... the packed house every night... the adoring fans.

Impossible to follow a legend like DA Red.

    Something!!!???

I say its a very good sign that he's active again.

So sell him on coming back to Beantown to run the show.

    How can he refuse?

If ownership wants him... they can get him.

He can't say no to Boston anymore than Boston can say no to him.

    Pud

Sorry I've stated this a few times Bird is an Indiana guy,the state not just the Pacers. The only way Bird comes back to the Celtics  is if we move to Ft Wayne. Anyway DA has brought more banners to the Celtics than Bird Indy, just saying. Not a knock on Bird he's to Indiana as most of us are to Massachusetts.
