Re: Latest on Andy Varejao

Varajao is playing too well for us to pick him up now.  We cannot get away with giving them junk.

Gortat makes sense although there is no guarantee it will be good fit.

    Kyrie - PG

    Waiters - SG

    Thompson - PF

    Zeller - C

    What's missing?

    SF, right?

So here's the question, Celtic fans, are you willing to give up Jeff Green, draft picks, and maybe Avery Bradley for Varejao?
All of that for Andy?  No way.  Draft picks are fine with me. The ones I don't want to trade for AV are the following:

Rondo, Sullinger, Bradley, Green.  Pierce and Garnett wouldn't make sense for either team. So that leaves us with  Lee, and Bass and Melo.  Any combination of those guys and up to 2 first round picks  I would think very hard about.

    Re: Latest on Andy Varejao

They're not junk and its actually a good trade for Boston's "win now", but a bad trade for our future.  We might love the trade this year and have absolutely nothing next year and going forward.  Bradley and Green are both young and if Pierce is hurt at all or just tired, we'll have no one to score in that position.

No - I wouldn't do the trade.  Lee, Bass, and Picks - yes.

concord thinks Green and Bradley are junk.

You think Green and Bradley are valuable.

Good points by both of you.
Concord would probably throw Pierce in there as a sweetener.

Having a Varejao will make Bass a better player as he will be able to focus on his offense.

    Let's break it down.

    C - KG

    PF - Varejao

    SF - Pierce

    SG - Terry

    PG - Rondo

    6th - Bass

    7th - Wilcox

    8th - Lee

    9th - Barbosa

Not a bad 9-man rotation, it's playoff ready.
and who on that list is going to back up Pierce?  Keep Green

If we're talking fab courtney lee and picks then yes, otherwise no. Bradley or Green is way too much.
I know it's too much. But some don't think Green and Bradley are that good.

Guess it depends on who you ask.
Look,  when we inserted Bradley last year our defense got substantially better.  He hit open shots, he got many backdoor plays and scored probably in double figures the second half the season.  IMO the best on the ball defender in the league. Period. To get rid of Green makes no sense.  He is a talent and still young.  To trade him gives up depth, future, and also means we made a mistake

nope. The way Rondo and Terry are playing D makes Bradley untouchable. And I believe Green will come around. Varejo is out of our reach. Focus on Gortat. Bass, Terry or Lee are expendable. Not Bradley.
