Leone Powe worth another shot?

Are his knees healthy enough for another go-around with the Celtics? I will say maybe. He does know the Celtics system, and is familiar with a majority of the players, so it might not be as bad of a signing as you think. -

Always loved Leon. I have no clue about how his injuries are. -

Despite being undersized, Powe had a knack for gobbling up rebounds. I don't know if he still plays that way. I haven't seen him in a couple years. -

I have no idea how his knees are. Regardless, would he want to come back here seeing how they dropped him 2 years back?
If healthy I'm sure he would help our rebounding tho. -

If the Celtics get Troy Murphy then for sure Powe won't be signed by the Cs. -

I'd like to see Leon back. I have my doubts about his abilities now due to his knees. However if the C's can't fill the spot with Murphy, why not take Leon on the cheap for the rest of the season? -

Posted by mem17The Celtics could use that roster spot for another PG like TJ Ford or Mike Bibby. -

He wants to play for us, but with those knees last thing we need is another injury prone player -

He couldn't play for the lowly Cavs. That should tell you something. -

Troy Murphy is a 100% offensive upgrade compared to the "OLD" Leon. -

I agree with you. Although, I heard the analysts on comcast saying that the return of Leon could ease the pain of losing Perk. Another familiar face returning to the Celtics could help the morale of the players. Just not sure how much he could contribute. He was always one of my favorite players when he was on this team, just don't think he is even close to the same player. -

Leon knows how to get position. That's something the Celts are missing under the boards and why he plays a lot taller than he is. -

Powe might be more physical than Murphy down low and could replace some of the toughness that Perk had. But again, his knee is the biggest issue and if he clears a physical, sign the man.
