Re: Let's Not Forget This is A Rebuilding Year

Every playoff team drafts young guys like Avery and Sully in the 19-23 range

Many teams sign/extend borderline starters who are in their mid-late 20's like Green, Bass and Lee

But only teams that trade 1-2 of their top 3 players away, perform salary dumps and start from scratch needing (and wanting) multiple trips to the lotto are considered 'rebuilding'

Orlando is rebuilding... Boston is not

Maybe when Pierce and KG retire Danny will see the only way to win again is to trade Rondo and Green and spent a couple years in the lotto... then it will be called rebuilding... sorry but your current spinning on the defintion of the term doesn't cut it. This is a negative garbage thread that is going to come off as you starting to shift away from your confident summer and quit on the team like you did last year. Stay the course please.

Re: Let's Not Forget This is A Rebuilding Year

The Lakers have had a crappy start... when they win 48-54 games and get the 3-6 seed they will not have had a 'crappy' season and that is as you know my only objection to your use of the word.

When they land in the lotto I will say your use of the word is correct. Is that what you predict?

The Celtics are not rebuilding... they used some draft picks in the 19-23 range on good young players... so did a bunch of other playoff teams. They did not trade their 3 face of the franchise guys, make salry dumps, decide to go for broke in the lotto, etc.

Orlando is the example of a rebuilding team... Boston is 100% NOT

He's off the bandwagon like last season when he said Celtics wouldn't make the playoffs and the Celtics and Jamez punched him in the Grill. Celtics were one game away from the finals. That's why we all call him Clueless34 AKA Bandwagon34...

    Good night...

Sounds pretty pathetic 3 games in Fierce

Improvements at EVERY position from a team leading the East finals 3-2 and then by 11 2nd half of game 7...

and now you are already off the bandwagon... dissapointing

Geez!  I thought the party line is that the Celtics are "re-tooling".

Oh so it was with 3:00 left in the first half.... yawn, some NBA preview article i read recently got it wrong then.

But of course thats a nifty nit-picking distraction comment to your shameful throwing in the towel after 3 games with a pathetic 'rebuilding year' thread topic

It is just sad that someone who spends so much of his life on this forum and so obviously defines himself by what a big Celtic 'fan' he is can already be sowing the seeds for quitting on the team... just as you prematurely did last year.... ugh

Re: Let's Not Forget This is A Rebuilding Year

Don't call this a rebuilding year then Fierce if you think we can beat the heat... just b/c we are younger doesn't mean we are not in a situation to contend for a title.

You clearly just said that we are a 2nd round team who won'r compete for 2 more years until wade is 33... I don't have to read anything closer than that.

When you extend KG at 3 years, sign Terry for 3 years, and still have Pierce, you are not 'rebuilding' that is a term for lotto clubs. You are 're-tooling' as Rondowski said in an effort to match-up with and dethrone Miami.

Man your defintion of 'rebuilding' must be like your defintion of 'crappy' one that 99% of others don't agree with

I believe the Lakers have 9 new players.  Are they rebuilding as well?

It is way too early to have any of these conversations.  Again if the Celtics went 1 and 2 over three games in January no one would even notice.

One would be foolish to pick this team for a championship just as one would be foolish to discount that they could win.

As for the Lakers that is nothing but bread and circus.  All style and no substance.

    Now they are rebuilding?

I thought you said, Celtics will be the nightmare of the opponents? No flip-floping and spinning.
