I cannot believe what your GM did today!

It is a shame your run had to end this way...

    ...see you next year!

    Cool

    Unbelievable!

don't think the heat can necessarily beat us head to head at this point. maybe next year after they dump their coach and add another piece or two...maybe even perk.

Good luck getting through the Perk-Ibaka-Durant-Harden-Westbrook Thunder... not to mention that Dallas and San Antonio will be the 1 and 2 seeds and have outplayed LA all season.

As long as Shaq is healthy enough to play 22-26 mins and get 12-13 points and 7-8 boards come May the Celts will still raise a banner

Green is now our Odom while Pierce and KG are superior to Artest and Pau.

agreed. i'm not throwing in the towel just yet. i'm going to wait and see what this team is playing like in a month or so. loved perk. he was good, but he had his flaws.

    Three things

1-Green is NOT a PF. He's a 6'9 SF...yes SF. He has more skills than Quis. He's taller than PP but he's not a PF.

2-I'm getting the impression that not too many people have watched Green or Krstic play. Green went to Georgetown and grew up in Maryland. So I've seen him come up.

3-OKC wasn't a great defensive team just because of Durant and Westbrook. Let's remember this is the team that beat the C's without Durant. We got two of their starters.

Look up the video of Green. He's a legitimate player.

Apparently you've already forgotten last year. Your very own Celtics were expected to lose in the first round...remember?! The regular season means NOTHING to the Celtics and Lakers. When the playoffs arrive, you can expect the Lakers to play championship basketball and the Spurs advanced age will show again. And Dallas is Dallas.

This trade certainly doesn't scare the Lakers. You C's fans better pray to God that you somehow win the east...and somehow avoid playing the Lakers. That's your only hope for another banner. Andrew Bynum probably began licking his chops when he heard of this trade.

Exactly.  Green played PF occassionally as a necessity for the Thunder.  He could be the answer to our backup SF woes.  The answer to our backup centre gap is coming.

Puffdaddy showed up.  Good things will happen.
We won't have to worry about the Fakers.  They can't beat the Mavs or the Spurs and quite possibly the thunder now.  You need to be worrying about your own team that has beaten one good team all year.  Oh yea that team had half their roster out that night. Bynum will be licking his behind. Of course that knee that would be perfect as soon as he stepped back on the court if bothering him again.  Won't be long now.

well we got a backup C who was starting for lack of anything better in OKC and as you said a SF starting out of position and being outplayed by his backup Serge Ibaka.

Green was torn up by brusier type PF's on D. But he'll easily torch other teams benches from either forward spot on offense... and believe me that is huge. there was little drop when shaq/Baby played with our 4 all-stars instead of Perk.. but even with 'Quis, the bench was weak and gave away leads all year.

Then Green will have to give 110% and play the best D of his life on the likes of LBJ, Melo and Deng.  He has the body, youth and atheletic ability. Does he have the guts and skills?

Celts can get by fine with Baby/Krstic playing with the starters in the reg season, but need a healthy Shaq in the playoffs.

Certainly is a bold move by the celtics and I'm not sure if it strengthens or weakens them. Having less 1 big body in the paint to contend with sure does light up the Lakers eyes. However, the Lake Show has the small problem of getting by the Spurs/Thunder/Dallas etc and I'm not so arrogant to think this is a lock. Whatever happens, it sure does make for interesting times.

It is 100% ignorant to say a solid playoff tested bruiser @ C doesn't scare LA. Fakers needed 7 games to get by OKC last year with Pau and Odom easily outplaying Green. Ibaka is a better PF than Green. He is a tough SOB who I'd take over Odom in a heartbeat. Of course I'd rather have Pau, but he'll still be way harder on Gasol than Green was.

SA , Dallas and OKC are ALL better than Cleve and Orlando were last year and the Celts were expected to lose in the 2nd round, not the 1st, please try to keep up.

Yes it is.  Jeff Green is a solid player but so was Marquis Daniels before he got hurt.  Big hole in the middle.  Cant believe your GM put all his chips on Shaq.  Cant jump anymore and his defense is to foul.  Watch how he will be huffing and puffing from playing more than 20 min a game.  Chicago or Miami come out of the east now.  Maybe the celtics can pick up Troy Murphy and at least make it interesting!

It's pretty obvious Ainge doesn't believe his team is championship material yet. That's why he's making moves now. Some to try to fix weaknesses...some to correct some of the stupid early season moves that he made before the season started. Nenad Kristic...really?!

Meanwhile, Mitch Kupchak and Phil Jackson feel pretty good about the team they've got.

if boston doesn't scare you, why are you posting here? l.a. isn't coming out of the west...book it. okc, spurs, mavs and possibly portland will make sure of that. sorry buddy, l.a. looks like balls this year and everyone has gotten better. you just don't scare anyone ask the cavs, charlotte, orlando and memphis how scary it is to face l.a.

if it makes you feel better, post way about this trade, but all it did was make your unlikely trip to the finals tougher, genius.

That's been the hope of evey Celtic fan. He's holding up pretty well. Probably cause his body is maturing.

Whether or not Phil returns makes no matter. Jerry Buss will go hire the best available coach. And most coaches in the NBA know the Laker job is THE "plum" job in the NBA. And if he is in Miami next year, it will be in retirement. Do you REALLY believe Pat Riley would try to bring in Phil Jackson? Riley's "legacy" would be tarnished.

i'm curious about all the laker rocket scientists posting how losing perk was huge for the C's and how easy it will be for the fakers in the finals this year. if OKC was one Pau Gasol tip-in away from getting past L.A. last year, then what does adding Perkins do for your chances of making it to the finals this year??? that's right einsteins, your road to the finals just got a lot tougher.
