Not sure the lakers would be better with that trade. Obviously howards worth it defensively, but he's not a natural on offense. Arenas is a complete waste, and qrich is a serviceable veteran. Kobe's inability/decision to not pass and age, derek fisher's age and Gasol's lack of production killed them. Common theme: Kobe alienated shaq, he's made gasol less effective/killed his attitude, made Bynum feel as though there were trust issues. Chances are, he'll run the next big man out of town, too.

From Orlandos point of view, how is this even mildly interesting? If you send Howard to LA, those 1st rounders become essentially worthless. Artest and Odom are washed up, Blake is an enourmous dissapointment and Bynum is damaged goods, and not just physically. Not a thing there to build on IMO.

NO need to blow up the lukers, a good coach and a few minor changes and the Lakers will be very competative the next two or three years.
