Mavs waive D. West. Next stop Boston?

    Link: http://espn.go.com/dallas/nba/story/_/id/8570204/delonte-west-waived-dallas-mavericks

C's have a deep bench but I've been out of the loop a spell and am  clueless as to whether a  pickup of West would help us?

If so, who would have to go?

    Thoughts?

Re: Mavs waive D. West. Next stop Boston?

West at his best is better than Barbosa at his, esp b/c West is a superior defender and much more of a true PG.

but it appears Delonte is having a hard time keeping his bi-polar disorder in check and doing erratic/immture things, which is what got him booted off the Mavs. He wasn't in quite as bad shape here in '11, but there were still enough issues that management preferred the older less explosive Keyon Dooling b/c Dooling was known for his level-headedness and leadership.

I doubt we bring back D. West, but the guy who avg'd 10.2 pts 1.8 reb's, 1.4 assists and 0.8 steals in 23 mins vs. the Heat in the '11 playoffs would be a great asset here.

There is no room on the bus...especially for someone with questionable character issues..

Lakers will probably take a flyer on him...desperation...

he was a nice player here but he's done. Not a position of need, and sadly he's a head case.

He had two chances.........after the second one, we offered him a contract to come back and he spurned us for the Mavs..........DA won't forget that, so NO, he will not come back here!!

    DA won't forget what?

He has a short memory for slights, real or imagined... and this is strictly business.

Let DWest sit for half a season contemplating his navel, keeping his nose clean, staying hungry and in shape.

Injuries happen... circumstances change... lo and behold the telephone rings.. and guess who's calling? What's your therapist say, DWest? Great to hear! 3rd time around just may be a charm!

I liked DWest during both tours in Beantown and until his injury(ies), he was great insurance two seasons ago. He's still young and isn't afraid of the big moment.

    Vets minimum max.

DA won't forget that he offered him a contract, then West went and signed with the Mavs for the exact same money.  If he doesn't want to be here, Danny doesn't want him.  Surprised you couln't figure that one out!!

Unless the Bradley injury is way more serious than we are led to believe, Delonte West has played his last game in Boston.

Jajuan Johnson?  No more guards but can Johnson (just released by Houston) play or not?  Just a question.

So DA doesn't want DWest....  unless injuries take their toll and force DA's hand.

    Exactly my point.

I say go get D-West: we need his toughness.  Who to let go, who cares -- theses guys haven't won anything yet.  Let one o them guys with the "swagger" go. Danny got us all these guys with swagger, but Delonte has real NBA toughness.

I can't believe people here call him a "head-case" and of "questionable character:  as if the type of people haunting this forum are all upstanding citizens --- yeah, right.

All things being equal I'd take an at his best Delonte West over Barbosa. As already stated, better defender and more of a pure pg mentality. Babrosa is an a combo guard who looks to score first.

    jj johnson cannot play.

You're such an idiot with your "haven't won anything yet." We are 0-1 against the championship favorites. Let me repeat, THE ONLY REGULAR SEASON GAME. If we were 10 games in and below .500 and talking like we were destined to go all the way with out "swagger" then maybe you'd have something to say.

"We haven't won anything yet" may be true, but its a worthless statement that a child breast-fed with lead paint would know not to make.

    Go back to being silent.

    Dear PR9,

Who died and left you "Fool in charge?  Who are you callin an idiot?  Why aren't you silent, you obviousley haven't got anything of substance to say.  Just ad hominiem attacks on another poster because you don't approve of his opinion?

    Grow up, child.

Don't post, please, unless you have something to say about basketball.  The new Celtics (the ones with the swagger) haven't won anything yet cept a few pre-season games, nothing to swagger about.  And you have nothing to say.

Stick with your own kind, the kind who call people names on a public forum.
