Question is, with how good Lee is fitting in with Avery, is he worth one of the following:
Ed Davis
D. Arthur
Daye/Leuer

Now that Rondo is gone Courtney is drooling to get on the court. You can see it in his eyes and play. Keep him.

i like lee. he gives us another athletic slasher that we need. he's versatile IMO. he can shoot fairly well, plays defense weel, can get to the rim. i like him.

The defensive combo of C-Lee and AB is unmatched in this league. It is not a good idea to force JT or LB into the starting lineup. Those two are instant energy and scoring that are critical right now off the bench. And, neither could match the defensive intensity and atheleticism of C-LEE. Very bad move.......

Lee has looked better lately as have many of the other Celtics, but I would trade him for a center type player at this point in the season. With that said, I think that I would rather trade Terry than Lee.
Getting under the luxury tax cap number would also be nice, but getting a guy who can be a defensive and rebounding force would be my number one priority right now if any moves are to be made.

THe only person on Memphis I would want is ZBo and that's not happening. Lee and AB are a backcourt nightmare for opposing guards.

I think we have a consensus!
I agree, we need to retain all four guards. Each brings something unique and makes us very versitile in the backcourt.

I tend to agree as well although I have to say Ed Davis is attrative. 6' 10'' almost 6 1/2 rebounds in 23 minutes of action to go with nearly 10 points and PEr over 17. good defender to very athletic. Don't think the Grizz will make this move though.

Agree 100% Nash and Kobe were glad to get out alive, after the defense Bradley and Lee put on them!!
Bryant and Nash were a combined 13 for 24 in limited minutes and Nash had no turnovers. They scored 36 points while Lee and Bradley combined for 23 points. Hardly a death blow to either . Lee is not that great on defence. The rebounding and interior defence especially on Howard won this game . Do you ever watch any games?

Yeah, Ed Davis is real attractive, but we need Lee. At 6'5 who else could have even attempted to guard Kobe in the post last night? Avery is an amazing on the ball defender, but Doc noted last night that his post defense is still "to be developped." JET can't defend the post, and Barbossa isn't strong enough. Lee is our big, strong, defensive minded guard. We will need him for the Wade and Rip type post-ups.

I'd do a T. Allen AND Ed Davis for
C. Lee AND next years #1 draft pick in a heartbeat!!
the contracts work, though Allen is only signed for this year.
E. Davis is signed for next year at a bit over $3Million and is betteer than any potential rookie we will get at the 20th pick or higher.
We'll also be position to make a real playoff run again this year.

Clark and Howard and World Peace were a combined 8 for 27 while the Laker guards Nash Bryant and Meeks were 18 for 36. We shut down the front line not the backcourt. Anyone who watched the game and is honest can not disagree. I'll be waiting for your explination.

Anyone who wouldn't trade Courtney Lee for Ed Davis has to have their head removed from their @ss. That is highway robbery and Memphis would NEVER do it.
Davis is 23, 6'10" and very talented. Even if he didn't have flashy #'s his first 3 years in Toronto, avg'd like 8-9 points and 6-7 rebounds in 23-24 mins, many people thought he was:
A. The most valuable player in the Gay trade NOW
B. Going to be the BEST player in the Gay trade by the 2014-15 season.
It doesn't matter anyhow b/c the Grizz can't trade Davis in a combination with any other player per CBA rules, and his salary doesn't match with Lee's to make a swap of both work financially.

You are comparing offensive minded vs defensive minded...Koby would have taken over that game...Nash looked very uncomfortable out there...That is the real story...We Won...big...
Recent play by Bryant doesn't back up your statement. Bryant hasn't scored 30 points or took over a game in quite some time Up untill last night he's been averaging about 20 points a game over the last 10 .Clark has been the only player to pick up his game after Gasols injury .Garnets defence on Howard and the combined defence on Clark made the difference. . Bryant can't carry the team day in and day out like a couple years ago.

If Memphis feels that 31 year old Tony Allen is going to require more than the 3 years and 15 million 27 year old Courtney Lee has left on his contract, then maybe they would be interested in a deal built around them.
Tony is an A/A+ defender and D+/C- offensive player.
Lee is a B+/A- defender and C+/B- offensive player.
Perhaps Memphis wants to move on from an aging specialist and pick up a younger guy who can give more on the offensive end now that Gay is gone?
They have a logjam at PF, Randolph is obv the starter and not going anywhere this season ( and at 35m over the next 2 he is going to be hard to move in the offseason if they want to, Randolph for Pau Gasol makes sense though). Davis is their future at PF. Daye plays some PF as well. That leaves Darell Arthur as the odd man out.
Lee and a 2nd rd pick for Tony Allen and Arthur would be a good deal for this team.

Don't trade Lee. The Celts will be too thin at both guard positions if Bradley, Terry, and Barbosa are the only guards left.
Bass and a 1st rounder are the only assets the Celts can offer.

I see what you are saying but without Rondo we are going to need a ballhandler which TA is definitely not. I have lamented the loss of Tony Allen since the day he left. We would have less for TA to do with Avery here.

Lee would give Memphis a younger starting SG, good at both ends of the floor, at reasonable $ for the next 3 years. The deal also saves them $ this year.
Tony would save us that 15m back, depending on if we resign him, and gives a team that looks like it wants to win now an elite defender to throw on guys too big for Avery to guard, he can guard SF's Lee can't even defend, and he is familiar with the team and gets his offense through energy not plays being run for him so it won't be that big an adjustment.
Grizz would probably want a 1st rd pick for Arthur, this deal could be worth that, but I'd try and hold out for a 2nd. He has an injury history. At the least though he should be a solid 16-20 minute 6/4 backup, like a Leon Powe. He is only 24 so he has the chance to maybe be a 26-28 minute 13/7 guy. Danny has some options for trades this offseason, with all 3 of Arthur, Sully and Bass deserving of decent mins only two should be on the opening day roster.
If we have to give up a 1st for Arthur, and he plays well, then its possible we can flip him and a 2nd to get a 1st back on draft day. Bass won't be worth nearly as much as him, being older and costing 13m over 2 years instead of 7. Sully's value is lessened by the injury but if 100% healthy his upside is greater than Arthur's, so he likely won't be traded.
