    Mike Brown-welcome!

Welcome to the Laker Nation and the greatest basketball franchise today. You follow in the shadow of the Zenmaster, GOAT, but if you meet with half the success that Phil obtained then you will enjoy being the coach of the world's most popular basketball team.

Good luck and enjoy having the eyes of the world on you like no other team can offer!

HA.  Mike Brown?  The same guy that ran the "give Lebron the ball and everyone else get out the way" offense.  Lakers will have him fired in 2 years.

Mike Brown was either a genius for getting his teams deep in the playoffs with those ho-hum rosters or LeBron was better than we thought.

In any event, I don't hear/read a ringing endorsement in Laker land, as much as you Laker guys on the Boston forums want to paint his hiring as a coup.  Phil Jackson he ain't.  But coaches are often as good as their talent, so we'll see.

Here is the endorsement of the who really matters most - - "Although Jim Buss is notably excited about bringing Brown in, Kupchak said it was all three Lakers decision-makers in accord on this one, as is usually the case."

Once again the Laker organization have made a collective decision about a coach that must continue to blaze championship glory. Only the Lakers have the standard of 'nothing less than a championship will suffice'. That's what Brown must rise to else is fate will rest elsewhere.

The Lakers aren't boston, Miami, Dallas, Chicago etc where periodic roles in the playoffs and conference championship titles suffice. The Lakers are about continual post season presence and legitimate championship contenders. The Lakers could have had any coach they wanted such is the esteem this job holds, so go forward coach Brown and etch your name in Laker lore!

You have just confused all celtic fans, as they have only won 1 title in the past 25 years. Even the pistons and rockets have done better than that.  Laughing

    Tayshawn,
Kobe was not even consulted. I am sure he is thrilled.  You are the type of fan who would put a positive spin on a Laker plane crash.  Why don't you go to a Lakers BB and share the love with people who can appreciate you non-sensical spinmeistering. Believe me nobody here does. You just got eliminated in four straight. All the touting in the world couldn't save your overmatched team, even the refs wouldn't help you.

If you think this year was a disaster for Lakers, just wait!!!!!!
He is a good coach...thats all...but not in the phil, Doc level..Thats why Danny locked Doc into a contrac pronto...So lakers have to settle for second level coaches....You think, Koby feels the same way you guys do??? This means, some major changes are gonna happen...for both the Celtics and Lakers...interesting..

Doc's not even on "the Phil level". ONE championship...remember?! The Lakers are in much better shape than the C's, and that's even if they do nothing else. However, Mitch won't stand pat. Expect him to make some improvements. Remember, these are the Lakers.
