We couldn't go big if we wanted to. We don't have any bigs other than KG who can play. I don't call Wilcox a big. Bring Fab up put Kg at the 4 and then we will go big!! Not only are we not big, but we're slower then Hell too!

Celts went big, Wilcox, KG, and Collins were always in the game. Doc never went small.

    Didn't work, Kirk?
Actually we looked better with KG at the 4.

We could not throw it in the ocean tonight.
It is tough to throw it in the ocean when you are shooting it from the Rockies, versus shooting it from a beach directly adjacent to the ocean. The Cs need an inside presence, really bad!

    It's a lame excuse.

Every time the Celts go small it never works.

The Celts went big, didn't work also. Celts still lost.

But Collins is a +1 so it worked?

    DUH!!!
We need another big man now!

Its a great idea, but unfortuneately we have nobody to put at 5 that won't do more damage than good.

DA messed this team up when he traded our center for soft forward.  I think Red said never trade a big man for a smaller player.  He is turning now.

Re: Move KG back to the 4?

KG has to play the 4.  bass cannot.  but we have NOTHING going on at 5.  wilcox is too small and unkown durability.  collins is like taking shrimp forks and jamming them into your eyes.  sullinger is under sized and under experienced.

if we get a SOLID back up quality 5 to mop up 20 minutes in the middle a night, then we might be able to do it with mirrors and make the playoffs.  with KG at 5 we will be at .400 winning percentage in short order.  he does not have it to go at it all night with young bucks who are bigger, faster in some cases, like noah and just too athletic for him.  maybe some nights he can quick himself around some big slobby 5's but only if he faces up when away from the hoop and drives.

still not sure yet, but why did we include the russian guy who was a servicable big in that trade to cleveland?  then we didn't fight at all to keep steamsmer.  and collins is rolled out as a ham sandwich of a functional 5...........   is danny really this thick?

is it logical to think danny will make better trades than he did a job of assembling a front court in the off season?  i'm not even sure what to think any more.
Perkins was big and slow. Our guys now are small and slow!!

    He doesn't do anything.

The KG as a center experiment should be over.

doc has never been very nimble at admitting to / adapting to failure.  i'd watch for the experiment to continue.  if we could land mozgov at the minimum, i'd be happy.  i was frankly wondering why were not after prizbylla who was hanging out there all summer and could have eaten 15 mins a night cheap.  he was hurt last year but came back and finished the year out strong.

even with mozgov and assume bass is gone, somehow, please God relieve of us this plague, then we still need something else at the 5, a smasher / rebounder.  can sullinger adapt and develop that quickly?

i don't know.  it's almost futile as this team would need major modifications to have a chance of getting out of the east this year.

Re: Move KG back to the 4?

Doc & Danny have got rid of or chased out almost every big man we've had the last few years. First we draft or sign them, then Doc either doesnt play or nags them til they want out or Danny gets rid of them.

Our two leaders seem like entry level sometimes.. on the job training

Lets alsp forget about tinkering with KG.. hes limited as to what he can do and for how long. Lets not get things any more complicated for him.

The BUlls lived in the paint tonight.. humiliating our defense.. DOc clearly has no answer. I watched the Bulls without their best player ..and they played the game like Id love to see the Celtics play. Moving the ball, working inside out... full of energy. The guy sitting on their bench pulling their strings should still be coaching in TD garden as far as Im concerned. Another bad choice by Danny... who since 2007 seems to not have a clue what hes doing. Him and DOc are perfectly compatible...

You are one hell of a flip flopper Kirk.  You can't really make up your mind what lineup you would like to play.  You seem to have the answers every time we lose and every time it is something Doc does wrong.  This was a experiment?  Since when was the move a experiment?

Kirk the idea that by mix and matching with the roster we have we can solve the problems that the Celtics face is fantasy. The Celtics are short a big man of quality. Wilcox and Collins cannot fulfill what their talents don't allow them to do.
