Agreed it's a long shot. DA could pick him up before he clears waivers (2-million / final year of contract).

I heard the same thing.  Anyone that is waived would try to join a team that has a chance of a deep playoff run.  That is why it is going to be difficult for the Celtics to sign anyone.

The Celtics know that and it makes you wonder why Ainge did not lock up Kaman so they could have a perceived run by potential players.  Kaman  for a draft pick or a player never off the bench might have made it possible to have run in the playoffs. Which makes me wonder if Ainge did not just screw up plain and simple.

Darn - Diaw and Parker are buddies : (

Danny would have had to give up too much for Kaman.  He made that mistake last year and saw that it netted him nothing.  So, he's sitting tight, knowing he simply has a rebuilding year or two in front of him.  When you face that, you want all the draft picks and cap room in your pocket.

How do we even know that the Cs were in trade talks for Kaman? Lots of speculating but Ive never seen any hard evidence of this....have you?

    Agree completely, Celtsfan4Life.
DA tried to have his cake and eat it too last year, and he got neither.
Between that trade, an overoptimistic assessment of JON, and letting  Tony Allen go, you have 3 big reasons why the big 3's last season is what it is.

Tony Allen as in perimeter defense, knew the system, gave RA and PP some rest.
If DA doesn't let TA go, maybe he doesn't trade for Jeff Green as a backup for PP.

Fierce you speculated last week it would not take that much to bring Kaman here. What do you think happened?  I mean you would have to offered something like a second rounder and a player. I don't agree with others that Danny should have held back.  We found out last year it was not a good idea to go without a center.  We need one this year.  We need one right now. If we had had one earlier we may have had an entirely different season.
