New Point Guards! Ray and PP

If Rondo and Delonte are ineffective, then we can always use the experienced point guards on our team....Ray Ray and PP....both have done this plenty of times in the past...both can drive...both can dish....in the 2008 Championship, you should recall in the final minutes of the 4th quarter, PP would bring the ball up....not Rondo....in PP..we trust!

    ITS ALL ABOUT 18!

Paul is ok in this position.  Ray isn't a very good ball handler.  Paul might be a good option if Rondo can't play many minutes, but not Ray.

The issue more than running the offense IMO is bringing the ball up the floor. Pierce certainly can give the C's some good utility increasing his role as a distributor and has done so in short spurts when Rondo was out in the past. But if Paul and Ray are the answer to bringing the ball into the front court after makes the Heat can out enough pressure on the ball to cause turnovers and leave the C's 15 seconds or so once they set the offense to make a play.

I'm old enough to remember when Ray Ray handled the ball in Seattle very well...he can be smart....I'd like to see Green in the game with these guys more...
PP, Ray, Green, Kevin, and JO....not the fastest crew but these guys give you options!

Ray Allen is not much of a point guard. He's a great 2 guard though. Pierce walks the ball up the court when he handles the point and always looks for his shot first. Delonte is the man to back up Rondo. Rondo is going to start tonight anyway. He played well the other night after the injury. Why not tonight? We'll see.

Pleeeze!!! PP continually loses the ball in traffic (you haven't been watching games) and RA has no handles. Let Arroyo have that duty of bringing up the ball then instruct him to get the heck outta the way.

agree with some of the responses to this post...RA and PP bringing the ball up = lots of highlight reel dunks for wade and james.

I get what you are saying about all the offense not having to go through the point BUT the fact remains that Ray Allen can NOT bring the ball up. That's right can NOT. There is reason why over the years of the Big 3 the C's fooled around with guys like Sam Cassell and Starberry.

If DWest and Rondo are limited Arroyo will have to bring the ball into the front court. The offense then will run from multiple points and notbe as dependent on the point guard as it is when Rondo is there.

Pierce tends to be the best option to find others from the top, Ray really is primarily a player that comes off of screens and pops or goes to his dribble and when neither is available he tends to give the ball to teammate in a position that rests the play.

Whatever the work around will be it is not an easy hill to climb. While the C's only run a few sets, there are so many options off of every set that requires each player to know where the other 4 are going to be. It is IMO why Jeff Green has struggled getting acclimated here.

But honestly think how many times Ray Ray gets trapped in the course of a season in the front court and can't break it with a pass or dribble out.
