    Nikola Pekovic...

    He's making $12mil/yr for 4 years, is 28.

Might be had for expiring contracts. Not much on D but is a great rebounder, elite on the O-boards, is decent at getting to the line (shoots well when he's there), is a good finisher around the rim, and is a scorer (20.4 PPG per/36min). He would fill a need at C. Minny wants to be rid of his contract to make room for Georgi Dieng.

Productive player at the 5 (20+ PER last 3 seasons) and that type of player is worth the contract.

    12m per year until 2018.

I don't think Ainge will want that contract.

He's not exactly what you would call a rim protector.

No thanks. Averages .4 blks per game. lol. That doesn't even round up to a block a game as a starting center. Big men who play defense are what gets you to the promise land. Scoring isn't everything (especially in his case). He can rebound, yes. That's because the dude takes up 1/2 the court when he's in the game (1/4 when he's out). The dude is so big, the ball is pulled to him like a gravity source. My dead grandmother (god rest her soul) can even beat him up the court. No thanks.

I don't believe for a second MINNY is trying to dump Pekovic's salary for expiring cast offs................. but if they take Bass and Bogans ?

that would be too good to be true

never happen, I'd even throw in the Clippers pick for Doc in the deal.....

MINNY would never do this deal

I said expiring contracts. The Cs have enough to make a deal. It would free up PT for Dieng and give Minny financial flexibility.  Throw in the Clips #1 in 2015 if needed.

But he makes it up in other ways and he'll split time with Zeller.

The Cs would then need a stretch 4 who can play D. Olynyk isn't that guy.

Monroe will cost more in assets and will have plenty of suitors in UFA in 2015.

Scoring is important, especially when your team sucks at it. The Cs have no one who can finish. His O-rebound rate is elite. That's important when the rest of your team can't shoot.

The Cs have Tyler Zeller, who can defend. Having Pekovic and Zeller would strengthen the 5 position.

I fail to see how a player who averages over 20 PER for the last 3 seasons can be called "mediocre".

MN has too many other things to worry about.  Pekovic is signed long term.  Even if they tank, they won't move him.   They are fielding offer on Love, and trying to extend Rubio.......they have enough on their plate without dealing one of the few true Centers in the game.
